In Unit 15: Religion, you will explore how religion influences political systems in Chinese- and Arabic-speaking countries. Students will explore the religions of China, describing how Confucianism affects Chinese culture. The basic tenets of Islam will be studied to explain its influence on the Arab Spring.

In your group, you will be assigned a religion of the Chinese-speaking region to review. You will then form a secondary group of fellow students who have the similar religion. Review the suggested web-sites taking careful notes below to answer the following questions. Then share your notes with your group members discussing the religion and modifying, if necessary, your notes. Once your group has shared all their notes with each other, return to your original group and share what you have learned about your assigned religion according to your revised notes. While a group member is sharing, you will need to take notes, clarifying your understanding of the discussed religion and asking questions. You will then write a one-page summary of the five different religions.
Questions to be answered:1. Where is the religion practiced?2. What is the main idea of the religion?3. What are the cultural components (e.g., holidays, dress and actions) of the practice of the reli-
