Intelligent Technology
SensorStat® is a state-of-the-art digitalthermostat and occupancy sensingsetback controller. Its intelligent tech-nology manages the energy consumptionof HVAC systems such as those in hotelsor college residences including: PTAC,Heat Pump, Split Systems, and Fan CoilUnits. Since there is a computer chip ineach unit, every room actually has itsown energy management system.
The SensorStat®
uses two devices thatwork in conjunction with each another todetermine the occupancy status of aroom. These devices are a passiveinfrared (PIR) sensor and a flush-mounted door switch. When the dooropens and closes, the door switch
signals the SensorStat®
to search foroccupants. The PIR senses both bodyheat and motion, so it onlyacknowledges people, not blowingcurtains or ceiling fans in the room.Once a presence is detected, theSensorStat
®locks into Occupied Mode
giving control of the thermostat to theoccupant, then directs the HVAC systemto accurately adjust the temperature ofthe room to the occupant’s selectedsetting.
When the occupant leaves the room, thedoor switch again triggers the PIR in theSensorStat
®to check for occupants.
After it is determined that the room hasbeen unoccupied for a certain number of
minutes (which is selectable), theSensorStat
®goes into Unoccupied Mode
and automatically sets the roomtemperature back to a comfortable, yetenergy-saving level (setback). While inUnoccupied Mode, the PIR continuouslysearches for motion and if a presence isdetected at any time, the SensorStat
®
immediately goes back into OccupiedMode. Setback temperatures areprogrammable for each individualproperty’s requirements, and they neverallow a room to become too cool orwarm. This enables the HVAC to quickly recover to the occupant’s settemperature when the SensorStat
®is
returned to Occupied Mode.

Senercomm®
presents a feature rich line of products with innovative designs and unsurpassed performance. Offered are the most technologically advanced Energy Management Solutions with models for every application.
Special Features
Refresh CycleThis feature cycles the HVAC unit at setintervals to keep the air in the roomcirculating. This reduces humidityassociated problems and will keeprooms feeling fresh and smelling clean.
Soft Bypass®
The Soft Bypass®
feature allows you togive complete control of the HVAC to theoccupant for the duration of their stay. The energy management system isbypassed with a simple operation. Norewiring is required.
Lighting ControlA simple relay connection allows theenergy management system to turn offlights or other appliances when thesleeping room is unoccupied.
Optional Features
PRIVACY PLEASE!
Senercomm’s®
Privacy Please! remote occupancydetect ion sys tem he lps avo id unnecessary orembarrassing occupant interruptions. Your occupantsremain undisturbed because staff can immediately anddiscreetly identify occupied rooms.
The system consists of a hand held scanner used by yourstaff to quickly and accurately determine room occupancystatus. The SensorStat
®device in the sleeping room
connects to a small red diode in the doorframe which canonly be seen using the infrared beam of the hand-heldscanner. A red signal indicates an occupied room based onthe status of the SensorStat
®device. A green signal
indicates a room is unoccupied, even though a "Do notdisturb" sign may have been inadvertently left on the door.
This optional module can be used with both theSensorStat
®2000 and the SensorStat
®DDC units. Using
Privacy Please! can help increase staff efficiency andproductivity as well as occupant satisfaction.
PATENTED “5 STAR COMFORT” HUMIDITY & CONDENSATION CONTROL
Using Senercomm’s®
patented "5 Star Comfort" HumidityControl, occupants can experience the benefits of aroom’s humidity level being monitored, managed, andreduced. At the same time, it provides greater savings inequipment due to mold and mildew damage.
The most favorable conditions for mold and mildew aretemperatures above 72°F and relative humidity above60%. The SensorStat
®DDC has an optional humidity
module that can be added to maintain a room environmentoutside the mold and mildew zone.
In the Unoccupied or Unsold mode, once the SensorStat®
DDC reaches its summer setback temperature, it reads theroom’s relative humidity. If the humidity is less than 60%, theSensorStat
®DDC will function normally to maintain
temperature in the room within the setback limits. However, anytime the relative humidity reaches above 60%, theSensorStat
®DDC will turn on the HVAC system and reduce
the temperature to 72°F. The temperature will then beallowed to rise to its setback point, at which point thehumidity level is read again. As soon as the relative humidityfalls below 60%, the system resumes normal operation;however, if the relative humidity is still above 60% the cyclewill be repeated.

SensorStat® DDC 2-F
Finally… the new standard of intelligence foroccupant room comfort and managementsolutions is here!
SensorStat® DDC merges digital control withpassive infrared (PIR) occupancy sensing, andprogrammable temperature setbacks tocreate the latest technology in the industrytoday.
The SensorStat® DDC is specificallydesigned to electronically control HVACsystems, improve occupant comfort, andincrease energy efficiency throughoccupancy-based setback strategies. Whenupgraded, the SensorStat® DDC 2-Fprovides operational input via a Windows®-based software system...innPULSE®.
SensorStat® DDC features a new slim-linehousing architecture with a stylish design thatis pleasing to the occupant both visually andfunctionally. It is easy to install and veryaffordable.
In a typical application, the SensorStat® DDCis installed on an interior wall and functions asthe room thermostat. The SensorStat ® DDCinterfaces with virtually all types of HVACsystems (through-wall PTAC, fan-coil units, orsplit systems) and replaces existing line-voltage AC/DC thermostats (mechanical ordigital) or improves upon existing controls.
SensorStat® DDC uses the proven logic ofmonitoring the status of entry doors(open/closed) plus physical occupancydetected by its concealed PIR sensor topositively determine if the room is occupiedor unoccupied. Once determined, theautomatic setback feature will engage thepre-programmed energy and comfort controlfunctions. In addition to providing completeroom HVAC control, the on-line version alsocommunicates over twisted pair providingreal time central monitoring and managementcapabilities via innPULSE® software.

The principle behind an energymanagement device in a sleeping roomis reducing energy waste when the roomis unoccupied without compromisingcomfort while the occupant is in theroom. Consider that up to 80% of youroccupant room utility bill is the HVACeven though occupants typically occupyrooms for only 10 hours out of every 24.This adds up to an excellent opportunityfor savings.
SensorStat®
is a state-of-the-art energymanagement device with an occupancysensing setback controller. It uses apassive infrared (PIR) sensor and a flush-mounted door switch that work inconjunction with each another topositively determine the occupancy
status of a room. When physicalpresence is detected, the SensorStat
®
gives control of the HVAC to theoccupant. When the occupant leaves theroom, the SensorStat
®automatically sets
the room temperature back to acomfortable, yet energy-saving level(setback). This setback level is generally5-7 degrees away from the occupant’sselected temperature, providing anaverage reduction in energy usage of 20-25%. Each degree translates to 3.33%savings in energy usage. In addition, there is a second level of savings wherethe setback is even deeper once a roomhas been determined to be unsold. Allsetbacks are programmable by theproperty to allow for maximum flexibility.
These energy savings levels, as well asoperational efficiencies provide a rapidreturn on investment. The typicalpayback period is only 24 - 30 months.Other indirect savings may furtherimprove the ROI. For example,SensorStat
®reduces expenditures for
FFE, extends the life of your HVACequipment, reduces HVAC filtermaintenance and other repair costs, andincreases occupant comfort... whichencourages a return stay.
Total Investment = $45,000.00 USDTotal first year savings = $25,864.13 USD

System payback occurs after 20.9 months.
Total first year savings = $25,864.13 USDHighest monthly savings = $3,426.74 USDLowest monthly savings = $958.57 USD
