Customer-driven innovation
Smart Steel places great emphasis on creating values downstream of the steel manufacturing process itself.
The data to be collected will be defined in relation to the needs and benefits for the customers of steel producers.
The project will actively cooperate between Swedish and Finnish stakeholders, which will strengthen the Smart Steel ecosystem and its ability to standardize the technology.
Smart Steel aims to explore the possibility of creating a smart steel platform for information exchange along the steel value chain. This value chain begins with steel production and ends with recycling.
The value chain of steel is one of the few value chains that’s already more or less circular and therefore the steel industry is an excellent candidate for the development of digital services in the circular economy.
