Cache Proxy (or IAS Local Server): Required for storing test delivery information and temporary storage of candidate results.

Specifications for Cache Proxy (or IAS Local Server) Computers: Low-end CP for up to 20 candidates: • Minimum Processor: Core2Duo with minimum 2.66GHz • Minimum Installed Memory: 2GB • Minimum RAM: 1 GB free memory • Minimum Free Disk Space: 2 GB

Specifications for Cache Proxy (or IAS Local Server) Computers: Mid-level CP for up to 40 candidates: • Minimum Processor: Core 2 Quad (>2.4 GHz) • Minimum Installed Memory: 3 GB • Minimum Free Memory: 1 GB free memory • Minimum Free Disk Space: 2 GB

Disconnected ModeDisconnected Mode

Loss of Internet Connectivity?

(Disconnected Mode) – Allows a seamless launch by double clicking the desktop icons for connecting and launching the software

Each IAS application launched CP, Admin or test-workstation. Will prompt for a shortcut to be created on the computers desktop after the first initial launch of the iBT using the url. To use for future administrations and launch in disconnected mode in case your internet is ever down. (“Only if the Cache Proxy was pre-stocked to run in disconnect mode”)

This icon should be located on the desktop of the Cache Proxy

Loss of Internet Connectivity

(Disconnected Mode) – Launch by double clicking the IAS Local Server desktop icon for connecting and launching the software

Call TOEFL Technical Support to obtain the disconnected password

Clicking the Disconnected Password button will bring up the disconnected password screen

This icon should be located on the desktop of the Admin station w/camera

(Disconnected Mode) – Launch by double clicking the iBT Admin Station desktop icon this will prompt you to enter the disconnected password for connecting and launching the software.

The roster page will appear where you can select a candidate.

This icon should be displayed on “ALL” test-workstations used for delivering the exam to the candidate

(Disconnected Mode) – Launch by double clicking the iBT Workstation desktop icon. This will prompt you to enter the disconnected password for connecting and launching the software.
