• data & communication technology tool for object-oriented development using purpose-driven exchange to:– design & construct a project– maintain & operate a facility

Virtual Design & Construction (VDC)

• before we build in the field (in vivo), we build a prototype in BIM (in silico) and test that it works– the virtual building is analyzed with

research applications & simulations to coordinate building systems and construction operations

– ...and to ensure sustainable performance
