THE BATTERY CAN ALSO BE CHARGEDWITHOUT REMOVING IT FROM THEVEHICLE.
42 • Loosen the two safety screws from the sides ofthe hood, and remove the two plastic disks(save the disks for putting the hood back on).
43 • Press the two buttons and at the same timewiden the hood to detach it, as shown in thefigure.
44 • Lift the hood off.45 • Insert the battery charger plug into an
electrical outlet. Connect point B to point C onthe battery charger.When the battery has been completelyrecharged, disconnect the battery charger fromthe electrical outlet, and disconnect point Cfrom point B.
46 • Insert point B into point A, pressing until itclicks into place. Replace the battery brace.Always remember to close and fasten the hoodon the battery compartment when you havefinished working on the battery.
REMOVING THE BATTERY47 • Open the hood, as described above. Disconnect
the battery from the electrical system bysqueezing the sides of the plugs.
48 • Loosen the 2 screws on the battery brace, asshown in the figure.
49 • Remove the battery.50 • Remove the battery clamp from the dead
battery.
INSTALLING BATTERYCHARGE BATTERY BEFORE USING.51 • If you have bought or own a Peg Perego
12V/12Ah battery, you will have to remove theplastic filler (A) by slipping it off the batteryclamp.
52 • Reposition the new battery with the batteryclamp in its housing. Fasten the clamp with thetwo screws.
53 • Connect the battery plug to the electricalsystem.
54 • Reposition the hood by inserting the fronthook into the opening on the bottom of thetractor (see detail).
55 • Slightly widen the cab, and lower it to itsoriginal position. Replace the two plastic disksand fasten everything down with the screws.
Before riding, charge your battery for18 hours to initiate them. Failure todo this will result in permanentbattery damage.
CAUTION:Only adults should recharge batteries,never children.Never allow children to handlebatteries.Only use the batteries specified bythe manufacturer.Only use the charger specified bythe manufacturer.Do not mix old and new batteries.Do not mix alkaline, standard(carbon-zinc), or rechargeable(nickel-cadmium) batteries.
CHARGING THE BATTERY• Charge the batteries no longer
than 24 hours, following theinstructions enclosed with thebattery charger.
• Charge the battery, as the vehicleshows low power, in this way youwill avoid damage to the battery.

ASSEMBLY1-2 • Unscrew and remove the bottom of the trailer
from the bottom of the tractor.3 • Insert one of the 4 self-locking washers (the
tractor comes with 2 spare washers) into thespecial tool provided with the tractor.ATTENTION: the tabs on the self-locking washermust be turned towards the interior of the tool(see detail A).
4 • Remove the axle from the packing. Insert theaxle by pounding the special tool all the way inusing a hammer. Remove the tool.
5 • Insert white bushing into each trailer wheel asshown.
6 • Slip the following components onto the axle inthis order: washer, wheel, second wheel, washer

(four washers come with the tractor; two ofthem are spares). ATTENTION: Check to makesure that the wheels have been insertedcorrectly on the axle. The hubcaps must befacing away from the toy.
7 • Place a self-locking washer in the special tool,and insert the prepared axle, pounding it all theway in.
8 • Attach the wheel unit to the base of the trailerby pressing on it.
9 • Insert the red pin into the end of the trailer.10 • Remove the three protective caps from the
bottom of the bed.11 • Attach the tailgate by inserting the longest pin
first.12 • Finish inserting the tailgate by pressing on the
short pin.13 • Lift the tailgate to close the bed.14 • Attach the bottom of the trailer (prepared
beforehand) to the bed by pressing, as shownin the figure.
15 • Attach the 2 nut caps to the wheels on thetrailer (Attention, in the packaging you will find6 nut caps; the remaining 4 are to be attachedto the wheels of the tractor).
16 • Apply the chrome decals to the headlightspositions as shown.
17 • Position the headlight lens by attaching theouter side.
18 • Press as shown in the figure to snap the lensinto place. Repeat the previous 2 steps for theother front headlight.
19 • Snap the small plastic detail piece into place onthe front grill as shown in the figure.
20 • Position one of the two parts of the weight onthe front of the tractor.
21 • Join the other part of the weight by pressingthe two parts together.
22 • Press the side inserts into place on the body.23 • Press the trim piece into place under the
steering wheel.24 • Push the steering column through the bottom
of the tractor to the upper part of the body.25 • Hold the column in place and slip the steering
wheel onto it.26 • Fasten the steering wheel with its screw and
nut, being careful to insert the screw into thecircular hole and to insert the nut into thehexagonal hole.
27 • Apply the chrome decals to the taillightpositions as shown in the figure.
28 • Attach the taillight lenses by pressing from thebottom upwards.
29 • Unscrew the knobs on the bottom of the seat.30 • Line the seat up with the two holes on the seat
support.31 • The seat can be adjusted to 2 positions to suit
the height of the child (see figure).32 • After adjusting the seat, tighten the 2 knobs
that hold it in place.33 • Position the seat support on the body of the
tractor.34 • Tighten the seat support from under the tractor
with the 2 screws.35 • Snap the two black plastic cover pieces into
place on each rear fender as shown.36 • Press the gas tank cap into place on the back of
the tractor.37 • Attach the trailer to the tractor as follows: insert
the trailer coupling into the opening on theback of the tractor, and rotate it (see fig. 43).
38 • Position 1: the trailer can be removed.Position 2: the trailer is locked into place.WARNING: The trailer will hold a load weighingup to 10 kg/22 lbs.
VEHICLE FEATURES AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE39 • GEAR SHIFT LEVER. The vehicle has 3 speeds.
ATTENTION: when the vehicle is taken out ofthe box, it runs only in first gear and reversegear. To use the second speed, follow theinstructions in figure 41.
20 • Loosen the lock screw for the second speed(fig. A). Turn the lock screw to the next notch(fig. B), and tighten it. All of the gears are nowready for use.
41 • ACCELERATOR PEDAL/ELECTRIC BRAKE. Whenthe foot is lifted from the accelerator pedal, theelectric brake automatically stops the tractor.
