Re: Qualifications of Pacific Urbanism
Pacific Urbanism has extensive experience gathering data from public sources
and visualizing them through geospatial analysis and mapping. These types of
data include population, median household income, housing stock, dwelling unit
change, environmental quality, traffic and commuter trends, and housing
targets. Please see our webpage (https://www.pacificurbanism.com/research-
publications) for the following examples of community planning research using
publicly available datasets from various agencies including but not limited to the
US Census Bureau, the City of Los Angeles Department of City Planning, and the
National Housing Preservation Database (NHPD):
1. Housing stock analysis in the City of Los Angeles by Community Plan Area
from 1804-2016
2. Areas of net loss in dwelling units in the City of Los Angeles from 2013-2019
3. Regional Housing Needs Assessment (RHNA) Housing Targets for the City of
Los Angeles by Community Plan Area
4. Inventory of low income subsidized housing in Los Angeles County 2020
5. Inventory of suitable sites for the location of off-street homeless shelters
throughout the City of Los Angeles
Please feel free to reach out with any questions regarding the research
mentioned above, or any we have available on our website.

Re: Cover Letter
Pacific Urbanism is a Los Angeles based organization guided by the principles of
social equity, environmental justice, and community economic development. The
focus of the organization is the assembly and analysis of empirical data related to
demographics, land use, economics, transportation, housing and homelessness,
energy, water, and the environment. Our five main objectives are community
driven supply, maintenance, and governance of the built environment and
essential infrastructure, analysis of empirical data germane to the guiding
principles, public education in regards to observed trends in the areas of focus,
policy evaluation, and community economic development
What we do is serve communities throughout California as a resource for the
creation of data driven, multidisciplinary planning support tools that specifically
further equity, public health, safety, and welfare of all peoples.
We thank you for your consideration and submit the following proposal to support
the redistricting of the City of Los Angeles Council Districts in a manner that reflects
the unique histories, demographics, circumstances, and communities throughout
Los Angeles and results in the highest probability of those communities being
served by elected representatives that share their interests.
