Grumio, amicus meus, ignavus est.

My friend Grumio is lazy.

Grumionem coquus est.

Grumio is also the cook.

Cum in horto dormiebat, canis errabundis eum excitavit.

When he was sleeping in the garden, a stray dog awoke him.

Canis latrabat.

The dog was barking.

Grumio canem cognovit pilam caerulus habebat.

Grumio noticed the dog had a blue ball.

Ludere cum canis coepit.

He began to play with the dog.

Grumionem pilam iecit.

Grumio threw the ball.

Canis ludum cucurrit.

The dog ran after his toy.

Skunkem conspexit.

He caught sight of a skunk.

Dues ambo animales constiterunt.

Both animals stopped.

Pugnare paraverunt.

They prepared for a fight.

Cum skunk canem aspergit, excucurrit.

When the skunk sprayed the dog, he ran away.

Grumio laetissimus erat vidre canem revenientem.

Grumio was very happy to see the dog return.

Canis domum intravit.

The dog entered the house.

Odoris dominum non delectat.

The master was not pleased with the smell.

Grumionem imperavit ut canem laveat.

He ordered Grumio to bathe him.

Grumio plus laborris non delectat.

Grumio was not pleased with more work.

Canem lavavit.

He gave the dog a bath.

Grumio canem Cogidubnum appellat.

Grumio named him Cogidubnus.

Cogidubnus in dome habitavit.

Cogidubnus now lived in the house.
