FABRICS
As one of the leading fabric trade
fairs MUNICH FABRIC START offers
one of the most comprehensive fab-
ric ranges in terms of quality and
quantity worldwide. The collections
exhibited by approximately 600 in-
ternational suppliers on the three
floors of Halls 3 and 4 provide infor-
mation on the latest trends and de-
velopments for the season, the most
innovative finishes, the key colour
schemes and material combinations.
DESIGN STUDIOS
The DESIGN STUDIOS are the concre-te answer to the textile industry’s grow- ing need for progressive ideas and in-dividual design solutions. The innovati-ve creative platform of MUNICH FAB-RIC START has become established as an independent exhibition format and opens up a new creative dimension for design processes to visitors. Textile de-signers and design offices from all over the world present their new develop-ments in prints and patterns. Exhibitors in this segment include Anteprima, Circleline, Design Union, Lica Design, Boggia Disegni and G. Disegni.
ReSOURCE
In September 2018 ReSOURCE replaced the former plat-form organicselection as a consistent development of the trade fair’s sustainability concept. The subdivision into the nine categories Recycled, Organic / Natural, Regenerated Cellulosics, Innovative (Hybrids & Bioplastics), Leather & Alternatives, Biodegradable, Pollution Free, Denim und GOTS is a future-oriented reflection of the current status quo in sustainability. The ReSOURCE Forum presents the most sustainable textiles from the fabric, accessories and denim suppliers exhibiting at MUNICH FABRIC START. Sorted according to styles, trends and tendencies, visitors can quickly gain an overview of the range of sustainably produced fabrics and trims on offer and, with attached brand labels, can find out and contact the relevant manufacturer directly. In addition to internatio-nal standard setters, certification bodies and non-profit organisations the area in Room K 4 of the MOC also offers well-researched information on innovations in the sustaina- bility field. After the fair, sourcing can be continued or intensified digitally at www.resource-textiles.com

TREND AREAS
The MUNICH FABRIC START with its exclusively designed
lifestyle worlds, the Trend Areas, provides insights into the
macro and micro trends that will shape the coming season.
In the Trend Areas, which extend across the entire foyer of the
MOC, around 2,500 highlights from over 10,000 sample sub-
missions are shown. Curated according to eight to ten trend
themes, the Fabrics and Additionals with manufacturer‘s refe-
rences and stand allocation are the source of inspiration for
professional visitors.
Since the Spring.Summer 21 season, the fair‘s own labelling
system has been providing additional information about the
production of the carefully selected fabrics and additionals in
the Trend Areas: Icons provide information about which
articles, for example, have been produced in an energy-sa-
ving or resource-conserving manner, thus enabling designers,
product managers and buyers to find environmentally-consci-
ous solutions quickly and easily.
Colour Moods illustrated by fabrics, catwalk impressions,
non-stop videos and specifically dyed yarn reels as handy
hand-outs are important tools provided by this atmospheric in-
formation forum that is re-created in a different style each time.
TREND BOOK & COLOUR CODE
As additional service, MUNICH FABRIC START offers specially produced trend publi-cations to match the trend themes presented in the Trend Areas.
The TREND BOOK provides an overview of the most important trend themes in elabora-tely designed Mood Stories comprising nar-rative explanations and Colour Cards with Pantone and Coloro codes. At this early sta-ge of the season, main colours with corres-ponding accent colours are presented. The COLOUR CODE can be integrated direc-tly into the creative process. The trend colour card contains all relevant colour codes for the respective season.
Exclusively dyed high-quality yarns are assi-gned to the respective trend themes of the Trend Areas and thus guarantee an additional haptic experience in addition to the visual presentation.

// MUNICH FABRIC START REVIEW SPRING.SUMMER 21
A PARADIGM SHIFT TOWARDS HOLISTIC SUSTAINABILITY
A new level of sustainability, digitalisation,
transparency, a growing need for informa-
tion and the desire to inspire - that‘s what
the Spring.Summer 21 season stands for.
The MUNICH FABRIC START with BLUEZONE,
KEYHOUSE and the individual showcases
presented by around 1,000 international sup-
pliers of fabrics and additionals successfully
introduced the Spring.Summer 21 season
from 04 - 06 February in Munich. The appro-
ximately 18,400 international trade visitors
were offered a broad spectrum of strongly po-
sitioned collections with innovative product
and trend statements that demonstrated a
new awareness of ecology and the increasing
relevance of natural looks and resource-sa-
ving materials.
For the first time, MUNICH FABRIC START
closed with a slightly declining number of visi-
tors, due to the worrying news about the ra-
pidly spreading corona virus in China and
because of the Milano Unica happening si-
multaneously. Nevertheless, the three days of
the fair were fully used in a professional busi-
ness atmosphere, so that the number of visi-
tors could be kept at a high level despite the
diff icult general conditions: This means that
for the first time MUNICH FABRIC START clo-
sed with a minus of 7% compared to the pre-
vious year.
The design team of Boss Women emphasi-
zes not only the good atmosphere but also
the high-quality and quantitative offer:
“We enjoy the relaxed atmosphere here in
Munich. All the important suppliers are on-si-
te, so we can work excellently. The main topic
is of course sustainabil ity and the correspon-
dingly wide range of natural materials such as
l inen as one of the favourites for summer 21.
There are also very innovative jerseys, bon-
dings and neoprene knittings as new and ex-
citing materials.”
FOCUS ON THRIVABILITY
The guiding theme THRIVABILITY met the
current mood of the industry, in which fu-
ture-oriented entrepreneurial spirit meets en-
thusiasm and a changing understanding of
values.
In Munich, it became very clear that the
era of sustainability is currently determi-
ning all talks and discussions in the textile
industry. The tenor seems unanimous: The
industry is on the right track and now it is
time to take responsibility, turn informati-
on into action and create transparency.
The Spring.Summer 21 season is marked by
dynamics, waves and radiance - the central
theme THRIVABILITY brings enthusiasm and
creates excitement. THRIVABILITY decon-
structs our understanding of fashion and
plants positive thinking: aesthetics and peop-
le meet at eye level; resources and nature are
respected. This creates a new understanding
of holistic sustainabil ity and visionary entre-
preneurial spirit.
9
10
The increasing interest in sustainabil ity, certi-
fications and future-relevant topics confirms
Franziska Dohrmann, GOTS:
“Our contact to major brands is clearly in-
creasing and the interest in certif ied articles is
growing. Already on the first day of the fair,
we recorded a strong visitor frequency with
very good discussions. The increasing accep-
tance is also reflected in the highly attended
lectures of the ReSOURCE Forum.”
ASK THE EXPERT – COMMUNICATION
ISLANDS WITH THRIVABILITY EXPERTS
Taking into account the focus on sustainabil i-
ty and innovation driven by THRIVABILITY, a
new information concept has been integrated
into the Trend Forum. At various communica-
tion islands in the foyer of the MOC, industry
experts provided impulses and answers to
current questions, from the origins of the ma-
terial to exploring the diverse range of pro-
duction processes and end garment recy-
cling. Through direct discussions, visitors
gained valuable know-how, insights into to-
pics and current solutions for both sustain-
able and innovative processes along the value
chain: CIRCULARITY | FIBERS & MATERIALS
| MARKETING & COMMUNICATION | RECY-
CLING | SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
NEW ICON GUIDANCE SYSTEM
In addition, MUNICH FABRIC START has im-
plemented a newly developed icon guid-
ance system which in the spirit of transpa-
rency, identif ies the sustainable and techni-
cal aspects of all the material highlights pre-
sented in the Trend Forums. In this way,
visitors can establish these respective and
previously hidden properties of texti les and
ingredients at a single glance.
INFORMATION, RESPONSIBILITY AND
TRANSPARENCY IN DISCUSSION
The different aspects, innovations, collabora-
tions and communication concepts were also
the focus of the numerous well-attended side
events at KEYHOUSE, the ReSOURCE Area
and BLUEZONE.
“As a trade fair organiser, we also see oursel-
ves in the role of an impulse generator that
can generate a corresponding reach. Therefo-
re, we attach particular importance to a qua-
litative and varied supporting programme
which, thanks to international experts, offers
an insight into current innovation topics,
11
problems and solutions and thus forms the
basis for transparent knowledge transfer.”
Frank Junker, Creative Director MUNICH
FABRIC START
Right at the start on Tuesday morning, trend
forecaster David Shah addressed precisely
these challenges in his enthusiastic keynote
“The 10 Pil lars of Design”. The publisher and
CEO of View Publications drew scenarios of
new retreat possibil it ies and the search for
structures and simplicity in times of digitalisa-
tion and diversification.
INNOVATIONS, FUTURE MATERIALS & NEW
TRENDS
Knowledge, transparency, quality, responsibi-
l ity and communication influence the current
multitude of product and process innovations.
Linen, both pure and blended with cotton, is
the big favourite for the season Spring.Sum-
mer 21. Other material innovations were su-
per-stretch silk, recycled polyester, Eco-
vero-Tencel l inen, Naia and Cupro fibre blends
or hemp textiles – the constant reference to
natural f ibres and surfaces was clearly visible.
The theme of Li Edelkoort‘s exclusive trend
seminar underlines this statement. In her
two-hour “Green Wave” lecture, the internati-
onally renowned trend expert presented her
interpretations of Spring.Summer 21. Here,
too, a rethinking of natural materials and looks
was clearly evident. In her outlook on Autumn.
Winter 21/22, she favours White as a global
colour, on which new structures, styles and
designs are based.
The future of the texti le industry was not only
discussed in the seminars and lectures – the
MUNIQUE MOODS party on the first evening
of the fair also provided an opportunity to
strengthen the community and exchange in-
formation. Around 1,500 guests gathered in
an elaborately staged and specially erected
palace tent.

// KEYHOUSE PREVIEW SPRING.SUMMER 21
A STRONG NETWORK OF CREATIVE MINDS
The think tank of MUNICH FABRIC START
offered concrete approaches for a future-orien-
ted texti le and fashion industry. Information,
transparency and interaction stand for an in-
spiring network of innovative projects and
sustainable collaborations. Progress and a
new level of sustainabil ity. Hand-made and
digitalization. The future of the texti le and fa-
shion industry is complex and challenging.
The demand for more transparency and infor-
mation, for innovative solutions, new thinking
structures and forms of production is all the
louder and more urgent.
“MUNICH FABRIC START‘s advanced plat-
form, KEYHOUSE, has been paving the way
into the future for some time now, connecting
innovators and the industry. The innovation
space, which brings together game changers
and pioneers, successfully gives traditiona-
lists in the texti le industry a glimpse of the fu-
ture. KEYHOUSE provides the space for su-
perstars of fashion technology to present new
technologies, sustainable developments, ex-
pert workshops and trend seminars. I would
easily describe KEYHOUSE as the “Depart-
ment of Innovation” for fashion companies.”
Muchaneta Kapfunde, Founding Editor-in-
Chief FashNerd.com
THE NURTURE ROOM BY PAULINE VAN
DONGEN
A highlight of KEYHOUSE was “The Nurture
Room”, with which Pauline von Dongen crea-
ted a space for meeting and exchange among
like-minded people who want to reorient the
fashion industry. The shared research ses-
sions on defined topics such as workwear,
outdoor clothing or casual wear, showed how
technology can be sensibly embedded in clo-
thing. Workshops inspired participants to ex-
pand their know-how and connect companies
along the entire value chain, so that they can
take concrete action.
EXCITING PANEL PROGRAM
On all three days of KEYHOUSE, highly inter-
esting lectures, exciting panel discussions
and polarizing keynotes on innovative topics
took place. In her keynote speech “Rethin-
king the business of fashion”, Muchaneta
Kapfunde called for a rethinking within the
fashion industry. The change is possible and
necessary due to the influence of digitalisa-
tion and technology. Examples of fundamen-
tal changes are block chain transparency,
compostable packaging, on-demand solu-
tions and the production of texti les based on
dairy products.
In the panel discussion of Sportswear Inter-
national, international experts discussed how
automation, digitalisation and localisation wil l
change the global fashion market and what
impact these new standards wil l have on CSR
issues and sourcing structures.
The panel discussion on the subject of “Fu-
ture Textile Supply Chain” with international
experts also provided new thought-provoking
impulses on how the texti le chain can be
transformed through sustainable solutions
and networking. In addition to transparency,
intensive communication with consumers and
the development of technologies, product de-
velopment, quality and aesthetics should not
be forgotten as indispensable criteria.
14
“The KEYHOUSE has a unique energetic atmos-
phere with very inspiring visitors. Especially ex-
citing was the great interest in holistic sustain-
able concepts that go into depth. So the indust-
ry is definitely on the right track.”
Chandra Prakash, Founder & CEO Cocccon
SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONS
Once again, the SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONS
Area at KEYHOUSE, curated by Simon Angel,
received great attention. He emphasized above
all the openness of the visitors to the complex
topics, to new materials and material extraction.
He said that particularly pleasing was the wil l ing-
ness to exchange ideas, form networks and thus
strengthen the community of all those involved
within the texti le and fashion industry.
The SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONS move bet-
ween poetry and problem solving. The area
showcases inspiring developments and creates
a new perspective on the world of texti les:
from extraordinary innovations, new material re-
sources and the combination of tradition and mo-
dernity to attractive and provocative installations.

// BLUEZONE PREVIEW SPRING.SUMMER 21
REJECT EGOISM. CREATE ECOISM. REWRITE YOUR FUTURE.
The denim industry is facing new challenges,
which the Blue Community faced as an opti-
mistic and international community at BLUEZO-
NE under the ECOISM theme. The strong net-
work of over 100 major international brands
and numerous denim experts was looking for
answers to a conscious consumer approach
and a growing interest in ready-made solutions
that offer future-oriented products, state-of-
the-art technological processes and complex
functionalities.
BLUEZONE stands for a call for togetherness
and cooperation for the benefit of our planet.
With the ECOISM movement, the blue commu-
nity highlighted the upheavals in the industry
and solutions related to climate change. These
and other topics relevant to the denim market
were explored in depth in numerous lectures
and international panel discussions at
BLUEZONE.
Simon Giuliani from Candiani Denim confirms
that the community spirit of the ECOISM guid-
ing theme determines the future:
“In a world struggling with overproduction, we
believe in ‚less is more, when less is better‘. It‘s
about green innovations that need to be visible
and tangible, and about consumers who are
better informed than ever before and are look-
ing for a new way of consuming. We, as the
Blue Community, are responsible for a massive
change that will transform what is seen as a
polluting industry into a green model based on
sustainable innovation and circularity. And the-
re is no better way to express this mindset than
to follow ECOISM and work with like-minded
people and brands - with the message: Fashion
CAN already be produced and consumed re-
sponsibly today. Hence our motto: Act now!
While everyone else is still talking.”
“For us, ECOISM means that we should all be
part of a comprehensive network in which each
of us is equally involved. Good processes are
not enough to serve as decisive solutions to our
urgent problems. The current global mission is
a harmonious connection between all actors
and stakeholders.”
Andrea Venier, Managing Director Offici-
na+39-Italy
The Rivet 50 Talk on the topic of ‘2020 Vision’
on the first morning of the fair gave an outlook
on companies, technology and fashion in the
next decade. One of the core statements of the
panel discussion, which was attended by 11 in-
ternational denim experts, highlighted the
changing demands of consumers – stationary
retail can only survive with new concepts, such
as offering sustainable fashion, vintage, and
repair stores under one roof. For this very
reason, the denim community must move
closer together.
HARDWEAR: THE SUSTAINABLE DENIM
WARDROBE COLLAB PROJECT
This unique collaborative project between TEN-
CEL™ X JEANOLOGIA® X ENDRIME® made at
Blackhorse Lane Ateliers focused on creating a
truly sustainable workwear wardrobe. The brief
17
was to design an authentic denim collection, in-
spired by vintage garments from the ENDRI-
ME® archive, using only the latest commercial
TENCEL™ Lyocell fabrics, complimented by
the application of the latest laundry technolo-
gies from Jeanologia®.
CIRCULART
The project CirculART is the result of coopera-
tive work by 10 companies who are representa-
tives of the sustainable textile production chain,
from yarns to the final product and accessories.
Four invited artists have metaphorically inserted
themselves between the warp and weft of the
life cycle of clothing to be an intersection point
through which the public can observe the tex-
tile production processes, creating different at-
titudes towards the products we buy. The aim
of the project is to bring artistic research to
question the different processes constituting
the textile production chain.
SAAT X CANDIANI DENIM FOR BLUEZONE
ECOISM
The hostess outfits for the new edition of BLUE-
ZONE featuring ECOISM have been created by
SAAT in cooperation with Candiani Denim.
Consulting & Design Studio, SAAT, creates con-
cepts and collections based on ‘NO WASTE
PRODUCTS’ with a focus on reducing the
amount of waste during production, emphasi-
zing the value of each individual product. To un-
derpin the ECOISM theme, SAAT created a
‘PURE’ workwear capsule collection in virgin
ecru cotton together with Candiani Denim,
known as the greenest textile company in the
blue world.
Innovation, transparency and sustainability
are the essential themes of the further high-
lights presented at BLUEZONE:
KG Denim Limited, Lycra, Stylers Internatio-
nal and Berto are pursuing the goal of conser-
ving natural resources and chemicals – through
cotton free or post-consumer cotton collections
(KG Denim Limited), a collection of EcoMade
products which recycles waste for a more cir-
cular business (Lycra), a Wardrobe Essentials
collection focusing on timeless pieces (Stylers)
or the development of new indigo tones which
uses far less water and chemicals (Berto).
The Denim House has invested in a biological
water treatment station to reach their goal of
recycling more than 80% of the water usage
by June 2020.
Calik Denim presents ‘Gravity’, a collection
focused on taking a sustainable approach
throughout the whole supply chain. By applying
the ‘Denethic’ product concept and its new
laundry technologies, it is possible to create
targeted authentic looks, using remarkable less
water, chemicals and energy.
At LDM, eco practices and developing new
techniques for denim production are in their
DNA. To achieve the desired denim look, LDM
uses either a wet process which uses simple
enzymes to reduce water wastage or a new
drying process which uses vegetable dye ins-
tead of chemical dyes.
After 11 years of research, Tejidos Royo de-
veloped the Dry Indigo® technology, success-
fully changing the conventional Indigo dyeing
process by eliminating water consumption. Dry
Indigo® uses foam application, using no water
in the process. Thanks to this innovation, the
“One Million Liters” project has been launched:
the company donates every year one million lit-
res of water saved to social causes that need
this resource to live like UNICEF.

21
// VIEW PREMIUM SELECTION REVIEW SPRING.SUMMER 21
CLEAR POSITIONING – SUSTAINABLE CONCEPTS – STRONG COLLECTIONS
As anticipated, VIEW Premium Selection positioned itself strongly as an early trend-setting trade fair format for the new season. From December 3rd to 4th 2019, leading international suppliers from the Fabrics and Additionals segments pre-sented around 360 refined collections for Spring.Summer 2021. All major German brands as well as numerous brands and designers from neighbouring countries were represented in Munich.
Among these were well-known brands: Alberto, Atelier Gardeur, Baldessarini, Bo-gner, Brax, Bugatti, Cinque, Comma, Escada, Etienne Aigner, Hallhuber, Hess Natur, Hugo Boss, Joop, Lagerfeld, Laurèl, Lusia Cerano, Mac, Marc Cain,
Marc O’Polo, Qui, Peek & Cloppenburg, S.Oliver, Schumacher, Seidensticker, Set, Strenesse, Westwing. The overwhelming acceptance by high- quality visitors is once again a clear indi-cation of this exclusive event with its very special flair.
Overall, the atmosphere at VIEW was effi-cient and positive, despite the challenging tasks in many areas of the industry. These
were discussed in a committed and solu-tion-oriented manner during intensive dis-cussions. The very complex subject of sustainability and transparency in the pro-duction and logistics processes, the part-ly decreasing margins for the fabric ma-nufacturers, the currently threatening or completed company insolvencies within the ready-made clothing sector were just some of the topics discussed.
“With great encouragement from the exhi-bitors and the continuously developing vi-sitor frequency, especially on a heavily vi-sited second day of the fair, the VIEW event as an early Fabric Trade Fair is the ideal preparation for the MUNICH FABRIC START in February. Despite the overlapping dates initiated by Milano Uni-ca, we are convinced after discussions with exhibitors and visitors that we can expect three successful trade fair days in Munich with the usual strong international portfolio.”Sebastian Klinder, Managing Director MUNICH FABRIC START
The need for early direction and infor- mation is great. Also against the backg-round that leading ready-made clothing companies are reorganising their plan-
ning, rethinking their delivery and collecti-on rhythms or have already redefined them for the future.
“The VIEW event, as a business and com-munication platform, is becoming increas- ingly important for us, as we will start the season even earlier in the future. All of our divisions were on site for the entire two days of the fair. We have already gained very good insights into the upcoming co-lour directions. Also with regards to the spectrum of innovative qualities. There have been very nice developments in the linen sector, for example in combination with Tencel.”Susanne Schwenger, Marc O’Polo
22
Manuel Höchel, Lanificio Fratelli Balli, also classifies VIEW as the ideal forum for the conceptual vote.
“For us, VIEW is the perfect trade fair for planning discussions to explore what our partners are pursuing in order to offer them a timely and appropriate offer. Our customers love this fair. Here, they have the opportunity to work in a relaxed man-ner, to inform themselves and then pro-ceed accordingly at MUNICH FABRIC START. At the moment, about 30 percent of our collection is for Spring.Summer 2021.”
Similarly, the assessment of Ted Stylian-dis of Liberty London:
“Right at the beginning of the first day, we served numerous visitors from Germany and Austria. At the moment, we are al- ready presenting up to 80 percent of the new collection. In the weeks after Christ-mas we will add an additional Capsule collection. There is great interest in sustainable articles. We will be developing further qualities for this in time for the main
trade fair.”
“We come to Munich with prepared topics and are specifically looking for the materi-als for our pre-collection. This is an excel-lent time for our planning, as we are al-ready placing orders in mid-December. This fair is enormously important for us, as it is the only place where we can get a lot of inspiration, exchange ideas and
receive complex information.”Frank Wojczewski, Windsor
Sonja Kiefer, designer from Munich, also used VIEW as the location for a TV programme and was equally impressed by the broad and fashionably sophisticat- ed offer for the new summer season.
“The VIEW event is the perfect source of inspiration for my next collection. I am particularly enthusiastic about the new developments shown here. The high qua-lity and fashion competency of the fabrics here fit perfectly into the genre of my rather classic evening wear. Mainly these include satin, crepe, double face with even more stretch for greater comfort
also within event fashion.”
FABRIC NEWS As in the recent past, the range of collec-tions offered by printers, knitters, weavers and denim specialists is already clearly defined in many areas.
It is already apparent that the range of co-lours is moving in the direction of brown, cognac and terracotta; that black and white combinations are becoming impor- tant; that red with a slight orange hue is gaining significance and blue in various shades is increasingly in demand. Florals and newly interpreted batiks con- tinue to dominate the prints as striking all-overs. Digitally applied kaleidoscopic
interpretations are just as convincing as large format graphics and panneaux prints. Structured effects and crepe yarns are important, even in plain colours. Linen is widely accepted in various interpreta-tions. From irregular plain colours to wo-ven stripes, checks and jacquards. The trend towards cotton and cotton blends in combination with Tencel is strong once again. In contrast to this are articles with a technical finish – now even extending into the classically oriented women‘s and menswear. The demand for comfortable textiles with some part stretch is also increasing

among high-fashion producers or even couture suppliers.
“This edition of VIEW was a very success-ful premiere for us. We will be back again in summer for the next VIEW event. The response to our wide range of print col-lections was pleasingly positive. In dis-cussions with numerous customers, we received a lot of input about the future development of our collection in time for
MUNICH FABRIC START.”Yesim Sezer, Ipeker
The jeans range is dominated by sophisti-cated looks in light elastic qualities; flat weaves in cotton and cotton blends with Tencel and Modal. The use of recyclable qualities is also important here.
“We are very satisfied with the frequency at VIEW. We were also pleased with the positive feedback on our product range for Spring.Summer 2021, which we pre-
sented here for the first time.”Fernando Naval, Tejidos Royo

// QUOTES
“The textile value chain is currently
being radically rethought. Every
company has to deal with these im-
pulses and develop individual con-
cepts. One thing is certain: in the
future, too, only those companies
will be successful whose fashion
fascinates and who act in an eco-
nomically sensible manner. Digital
processes, decentralized produc-
tion, smaller batches, shorter lead
times, comprehensive transparency
and new circular business models
– it remains exciting to see which of
these developments are scalable
and when. One thing is certain: now
is the right time to develop princi-
ples for dealing with the new per-
spectives for your own company. In
view of these fascinating pros-
pects, a 90-minute expert panel on
„Future Textile Supply Chain“ is
just enough to scratch the surface
of the new possibilities.”
Alexander Vogt, Kern. Consulting
“We view BLUEZONE as a community plat-
form and content hub. Although there are
many diverse marketing channels for prod-
uct communication there is no better brand
experience than at a trade fair. And here at
the BLUEZONE we not only find a great
location but also a very open-minded and
engaged community.”
Marykate Kelly, Candiani Denim
“I really enjoyed my time at the MUNICH FABRIC
START. Especially the BLUEZONE and the
KEYHOUSE surprised me positively. I was very im-
pressed by the number of suppliers working with in-
novative new technologies and methods to produce
in a more sustainable way. Overall, the fair is a great
showcase for sustainable innovations. It is very in-
spiring to talk to so many experts about such an im-
portant topic. It motivates and shows solutions.
I got a lot of input that I will use in future projects.”
Theresa Austin, Advisor AKOJO MARKET, Co-founder Paris UIUX, LVMH Group Digital
“The largest portfolio of sustain-
able products is on display here in
Munich. Such a broad spectrum in
this density cannot be found
anywhere else. All major suppliers
are on-site. In addition, there is an
excellently staffed accompanying
program of panels and discussion
rounds. The acceptance of sustain-
able topics is increasing all the
time, which is a very positive de-
velopment overall. This is also re-
flected in the competent awards for
articles in the ReSOURCE Area.”
Claudia Lanius, Lanius
“The VIEW as a business and communication platform
is becoming increasingly important for us as we will be
starting the season even earlier in the future. All our
business units were on site during the entire two days
of the fair. We have already been able to gain very good
insights into the coming colour directions and trends –
also with regard to the spectrum of innovative qualities.
There have been some very nice developments in the
linen sector, for example in combination with Tencel.”
Susanne Schwenger, Marc O’Polo
“The MUNICH FABRIC START has shown very clearly that this
fair format is convincing as a strong industry platform in times
of changes and major challenges. Thanks to the profassional-
ism and sovereignty of all those involved, the necessary res-
ponsibility to approach the reorientation of the market con-
structively and in a solution-oriented manner has been
created. We have experienced this willingness in numerous
discussions with exhibitors and visitors during the three
intensively used days of the fair. We therefore feel confirmed
in our current and future orientation.”
Sebastian Klinder, Managing Director MUNICH FABRIC START
“To us this is a fantastic trade fair to meet
with our customers. Furthermore, we get
plenty of inspirations and impressions
here. MUNICH FABRIC START is without
a doubt my favourite fair. There is a very
special atmosphere here. Here the most
varied forms of creativity collide. More-
over, we use this opportunity to explain
our products, strategies and coopera-
tions in seminars and to launch products.
We welcome our most varied range of vi-
sitors here in Munich: American clients,
university graduates, start-ups and, of
course, leading European brands.”

// LOCATIONSThe event area of the MUNICH FABRIC START consists of the MOC (halls 1 - 4), the KEYHOUSE in the Kesselhaus (hall 5) and the BLUEZONE in the Catalyzer (hall 6) and All Star Mills (hall 7) on the Zenith area. The area can be reached by car with sufficient parking sports, by public trans-port (U6 to Freimann) and by plane (shut- tle bus from Munich Airport).
MUNICH FABRIC START is held at the modern exhibition and event centre MOC, the Munich Order Center, located in the north of Munich. Its special architecture provides the space for individual stand and presentation options spread across 4 exhibition halls plus large seminar rooms and lounges. The exhibition offer ranges from white and clean stands to atriums with daylight to exclusive studios.
The BLUEZONE as one of the biggest Denim shows worldwide is spread about two inspiring halls on the Zenith area: In the Zenith Hall (Hall 7), the „All Star Mills“,
modern industrial charm reigns in the au-thentic setting of a former factory building thanks to open steel beams and creative stand modules. The coal bunker known as the „Catalyzer“, Hall 6, suits the urban denim community thanks to large glass domes, massive stone walls and an open stand design.
Next to the Catalyzer, the KEYHOUSE is located in Hall 5 in an old boiler house. The Innovation Center fits perfectly into the surrounding with its impressive steel frame construction and original preserved boiler plant with chimney.
VIEW Premium Selection invites visitors twice per year to the MVG Museum in Ständlerstraße 20. The former industrial hall is part of the main tramway work-shops of the Munich public transport company and can be easily reached by public transport. Parking spaces are also available for those arriving by car.

The visitor frequency is continuously at a high level of about 20,000 visitors with increasing internationality.
