The Berkeley Springs Farmers Market Celebrates 10 Years
The Berkeley Springs Farmers Market supports the development of
local agriculture through workshops, field support, and conference attendance for members, new producers and products workshops
and representation in state and national organizations.
The Market benefits the community by supporting agriculture and
the local economy. It provides locally grown and fresh produce direct to consumers, provides produce to local food kitchens and
creates a sense of place for the community.
The producers have developed a broad range of products and
continue to expand each year. The Market also has a number of special events and the local Master Gardeners provide educational
programs throughout the season in addition to their information booth at the Sunday market.
Every year, market farmers donate produce to food pantries in Berkeley Springs. Farmers also partner with the West Virginia
Department of Agriculture and accept Senior Farmers Market vouchers and WIC coupon vouchers.
The Market supports direct marketing opportunities by providing a venue to sell products in downtown Berkeley Springs, directly to
local restaurants, retail businesses and institutions, wholesale and direct from the farm to consumers.
