Early Childhood Education Research PartnershipOklahoma is partnering with the Regional Education Laboratory Southwest on a variety of projects designed to examine and address issues of equity in state-funded early childhood education and support early childhood educators with evidence-based instruction and assessment practices.

State-Funded Pre-K Participation Study 1Descriptive study designed to understand who is participating in state-funded Pre-K and if there are variations in participation among student subgroups and regions of the state.

• Greater percentages of students in rural districts participated than in nonrural districts.

• Participation differed by student subgroup.• Students who lived farther from a state-funded Pre-K site

were less likely to participate.• Students who lived farther from a Head Start center were

more likely to participate.

Survey of Pre-K Curricula and Instruction

Purpose: Capture information about Pre-K curricula and instructional practices in use in state-funded Pre-K classrooms.• We hope to also learn how teachers adjusted instructional

practices to accommodate virtual, traditional, and/or hybrid teaching.

• To be administered late winter early spring 2021.

Early Learning Inventory Pilot Study• Support school districts in gathering information on what

students know and can do at the time of kindergarten entry.

• Assist teachers in data-driven instructional decision making.

• Identify individual student’s needs and provide necessary supports.
