Suggested offering $10.00 per Mass intention.
Stewardship Moment : “…whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.” Matthew 1o:38 Pope Benedict XVI said “The world offers you com-fort. But you were not made for comfort, you were made for greatness”. “Comfort” puts me first. “Picking up your cross and following Jesus” puts God and others first. Why settle for comfort when you can achieve greatness! Pick up your cross, ask Jesus for guidance on using your gifts and live the life God in-tended for you!
Parish Directories are here! Stop in the office and pick yours up if you had your picture taken.

Let us all extend a warm welcome to our new pastor, Fr. Jared Kadlec.
THE YOUNG WOMEN OF OUR PARISHES ARE INVITED TO A YOUNG WOMEN’S RE-TREAT for the Fargo Diocese from July 15-18 for girls
ages 13-17. This overnight retreat in Hankinson will in-clude daily mass, adoration, reconciliation, guest speak-ers, and indoor and outdoor activities! Our theme for the retreat is learning about the five love languages and how God loves us through them! This will be a great experi-ence for after our long COVID-19 separation! The cost is $150 per person, and the girls must be registered before June 30. I thought I would reach out to you as you might have a few young women from your parishes that you would think would be interested in going! The link to print out the application is: https://d2y1pz2y630308.cloudfront.net/22612/documents/2020/5/0420-YWR-Brochure.pdf
This is to be mailed in to:

Dear parishioners and friends of St. Mark’s and St. Andrew’s,
I want to thank you for the kindness you extended to me upon my arrival. There was even a welcome delegation awaiting my arrival with lunch for the moving team. Thank you so much.
In a brief chat conversation with Father Michael on Thursday evening, I was commenting that after twelve years, I had forgotten the effort it takes to pack, load, move, unpack, unload and find a new home for one’s “treasures.” Father Hickin responded, “Yes, I am in the throes of it all, and won’t be landing this plane any time soon. Peace to you and your flock!”
Permit me to share a bit about myself. I was raised on a farm near Pisek, North Dakota, where I went to school and until I entered semi-nary at Cardinal Muench/NDSU and then to major seminary at Mount Saint Mary’s in Emmitsburg, Maryland. I also had the honor of serving in the Navy for a brief time. I was ordained with Father Hickin in 1997. I was stationed at St. Anthony’s in Fargo upon my ordination. Fol-lowing that, I went to St. Joachim (Rolla)/Sacred Heart (Hansboro)/Immaculate Heart (Rock Lake) in 1999. In 2002, I was asked to do further studies in Rome in Canon Law. Upon my arrival home in 2007, I was appointed to Tribunal work at the Diocese of Fargo and pastoral work at Sts. Anne and Joachim (Fargo). In 2008, I was appointed to St. Benedict Church of Wild Rice and St. Maurice in Kindred. After twelve years, it is time for a new walk.
I am still trying to find my way around the house, organizing my life and thoughts. Be patient with me as I look forward to becoming ac-quainted with you all. Please keep Father Hickin and me in prayer as we transition into our new assignments.
We are all trying to find our way as we navigate a Covid-19 world. I realize everyone has to decide for him/herself what level risk with which they are willing to live. When everything shut down in March, I established a YouTube channel to help parishioners see a familiar face and place. I have used the channel primarily to record the weekend Mass. Feel free to do a search for Jared Kadlec on YouTube. I hope to do a recording this weekend for those who are unable to join us at St. Mark’s and St. Andrew’s. Also, I can be reached via:
email: jared.kadlec@fargodiocese.org
mobile/text: (701) 429-3454
Allow me to say how grateful I am to have been happily assigned to you these fine parishes. With twenty-three years under my belt, I have enjoyed every one of my assignments, and I look forward to journeying with you in our walk with the Lord.
Prayerfully,
Father Kadlec
A Big, Huge, THANKS to all those who helped put together my farewell on Sun-day. What gorgeous weather and superb company. I wondered what I was think-ing blocking out 4 hrs for this simple event, but it turned out just right—a steady flow of folks the whole time, some just driving by, others stopping for a snack and conversation. It was perfect! I was deeply touched and thank the Lord for the priv-ilege of knowing you and serving you.
Another HUGE THANK YOU to all those who helped pack and haul my ‘treasures’ to Langdon: Bruce & Martha Biewer, Evan St. Michel & Gang, Cody & Ariel Brink, Vickie Gangl, Warren Emmer, Keith Kontzie, Steve & Cindy Lauckner, and all those who sat around and wept that I had sooo much junk. And thank you too to the
Cleaning Crew; I’m sure Fr Jared walked into his new home with a smile upon his face. Some people liked my menagerie of junk and others couldn’t wrap their heads around it. Sorry for my strange brand of materialism. It’s like when I look at a rock pile and see gems. To turn junk into something beautiful takes time and imagination. I don’t always have much of either, but aren’t we allowed to dream? Thanks again to all those who weighed in with me in keeping certain crazy dreams alive. Abundant Blessings on your future and mine. —Fr Michael
