Look at the selection of magazine covers and answer the following questions Ü

1. What is your first impression ofthe cover as a whole?

4. Some magazines are sentdirectly to people’s home orbusiness instead of being soldin a shop. Researchnews is anexample of this type ofmagazine. How is its frontcover different from theothers? Why do you think thismight be?

5. If you saw all the magazinesfor sale which one would youwant to read? Why?

6. Every magazine has a catch-phrase which describes the magazine in ashort and snappy way, for example ‘The Ultimate Fan’s Mag’ or ‘Theauthority in personal computing’. Think up your own catch-phrases forone or two of the magazines!

7. Design an alternative front cover for one of your catch-phrases. Makesure that the cover will attract a readership through its title, graphicsand copy!
