Appendix XFX Sample Locations
Introduction
Analysis by XRF both of hand samples collected in the field and samples of drill
core was carried out on samples from Grimsthorpe and Tudor Townships, Ontario for
Lydia Diamond Exploration of Canada Ltd. The XRF analysis was performed at the
XRF laboratory, Department of Geology, University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario.
Reports on the results of the XRF analysis are given in the appendices.
Property
The property consists of 125 claims containing 1,025 claim units. The claims are
numbered SO 1077074, SO 107791 to 1077095 incl.; SO 1167015 to 1167026 incl.;
SO 1167045 to 1167048; SO 1167139, SO 1167255 to 1167256, SO 1167279,
SO 1167289, SO 1184029 to 1184030; SO 1192192, SO 1192200, SO 1195071 to
1195072; SO 1195077, SO 1195165, SO 1195167, SO 1195169, SO 1195177 to 1195181
incl.; SO 1195183, SO 1199128 to 1199167 incl.; SO 1199170 to 1199172 incl.;
SO 1199888 to 1199890 incl.; SO 1199501 to 1199518 incl.; SO 1199520 to 1199530,
SO 1199550, SO 1242376 to 1242379 incl. and SO 1242095 to 1242906 incl. in the

Division. They are held in the name of Lydia Diamond Exploration of Canada Ltd.

Location and Access
The property is located about 20 km north of Madoc, Ontario. Madoc lies at the
junction of Highways 7 and 62. Highway 7 runs east from Toronto through Peterborough
to Ottawa; Highway 62 runs north from Belleville to Bancroft. Madoc is about 41 km
north of Belleville. Access to the property is by secondary township roads which run east
from Highway 62. Sample sites on claims SO 1195181 and SO 1195077 are accessed by
the Wolf Lake Road, logging roads and trails from this road.
Sample sites on claim SO 1235050 was accessed from a forest access road which
passes through the north part of Grimsthorpe Township. The forest access road connects
with the Weslemkoon Road between the villages of Gilmour and Gunter. The
Weslemkoon Road runs east from Highway 62 about halfway between Madoc and
Bancroft. Property location is shown on the enclosed map.
General Geology
The property is underlain by a volcanic to sedimentary sequence intruded by
mafic to granite rocks. Metamorphic grade is generally high. The area is part of the
Proterozoic Grenville province of the Precambrian shield. In general, the east part of the
property is underlain by mafic intrusive rocks of the Lingham Lake complex with mafic
volcanics to the west and south, with a narrow band of felsic volcanics followed by
carbonate metasediments further west.
There has been previous exploration in the area for gold and lead-zinc.
Sample Collection
Samples were collected by Lydia geologists from pits, trenched and outcrops on
the property. Sample of several pounds were placed in plastic bags, identified as to
location and later cleaned and examined before sending to the XRF lab at University of
Toronto. Approximately 1A day was spent on collection of each sample.
Drill hole cores were examined using existing logs as a guide and samples
selected for analysis. Samples were placed in plastic bags, identified as to drill hole
number and footage in the hole before sending to the XRF lab at U. of T.
Approximately l hour was spent on collection of each sample.
Analysis
The XRF analysis was carried out at the laboratory, Department of Geology,
University of Toronto, using a Philips PW2404 sequential x-ray fluorescence
spectrometer. A short flyer from the Department of geology is attached.

When MJ-19A is analysed as a pressed powder pellet, the total is
91 .5 0Xo. Using this result, but allowing the computer to calculate the
H20 by difference (not reliable) gives 12.3 Vo H2O (analysis #1).
Experience suggests this is an overestimate of H2O and thus all the
elements are correspondingly slightly too low An alternative calculation can be performed by manually adding
H2O to the analysis (and recalculating) until it totals 1000X0 . This
required 5 507o H2O (analysis #2). Ideally this should have given the
same result as # l .When fired in air (3), ~- 1000 C, the loss on ignition was 7.20Xo.
Note that weight gain as a result of oxidation of FeO will have
reduced the loss slightly, and thus actual H2O (+CO2) should be a
little higher (- 807o).Thus it would appear that a true analysis would be closer to the
average of #1 and #2.

MJ-15 Same as MJ-14, but lacking mica and K2O.
MJ-i6 High Fe, low SiO2 mafic cumulate again (c.f. MJ-12 and 13).

BH115-26.5 and BH115-29 are high Mg rocks with compositions
very similar to komatiites
BH115-36 appears roughly basaltic in composition with relatively
high incompatibles such as K2O, Na20 and TiO2.
However, Cr and especially Co are too high whereas SiO2 and especially Zr
and Y aie too low. Could be a cumulate from a relatively fractionated basalt.

BG Looks like a carbonatite with calcite, phlogopite, olivine? CaO reported as CaC03, giving a total of 99 30Xo Low K2O and AJ203 because surface analysed did not expose much
phlogopite.Thus the B a is rather high - maybe some in the calcite.
Note because all the Ca is in calcite and all the Mg and Si are m a
silicate phase, this will cause severe problems for the data reduction Thus
this analysis is definitely 'semi-quantitative'

Here are the results from the latest set of samples - recalculated to 100*54.
BH75- 1 1 Very high K2O, high P2OS, Ba, Ti02, Zr, Mb and Y, but Zr/Y only ~ 8
BH75-1 8 Same reddish staamng and low SiO2, but lower Zr, Mb etc and Zr/Y ~ 6.
BH75-21 Half core with a sedimentary inclusion (mostly avoided) Low P2O5 but
somewhat higher TiO2, Zr, and Nb with Zr/Y -11. High CaO (carbonate assimilation7)
BH75-2S Weird stuff this. .High K2O, P2O5 and Nb but low Zr with Zr/Y ~ 3.5
(half typical tholeiitic values)The side analysed contains a mafic inclusion on the edge, but only about
have been included in the analysis.
BH75-26 Breccia fragments abou: 25^b, carbonate matrix about 750xi CO2

SAMPLE COLLECTION DESRIPTION AND COSTS

Sample Collection
Samples were collected by Lydia geologists from pits, trenches and outcrop on the Property. Samples of several pounds were placed in plastic bags, identified as to location and later cleaned and examined before sending to the XRF lab at the University of Toronto. Approximately 1A day was spent on collection of each sample. (This time is calculated based on the field geologist examining GSC base maps of the local geology, locating examples of this geology in the field, identifying rock types anomalous to the mapped geology, identifying structures in the field that could affect the emplacement of intrusives, collection and labelling of field samples, rough- identification of the samples in base camp and the shipping of the sample to the Lydia head office with collection notes.)
Drill hole cores were examined using existing logs as a guide and samples selected for analysis. Samples were placed in plastic bags, identified as to drill hole number and footage in the hole before sending to the XRF lab at U of T. Approximately l hour was spent on collection of each sample. (This collection procedure included the identification of rock-types listed in the core logs, associational and structural context of the sample noted for sample selection, collection, bagging and labelling, sealing of core boxes for transport to Lydia core storage facility in Bannockburn and the shipping of samples to the Lydia head office with collection notes.)
Analysis
The XRF analysis was carried out at the XRF laboratory, Department of Geology, University of Toronto, using a Philips PW2404 sequential x-ray fluorescence spectrometer. A short flyer from the Department of Geology is attached. (Sample handling and preparation included washing, structural examination of the sample for optimal cutting angle, cutting using a diamond saw and the delivery and discussion of analysis with the XRF lab.
