Concentric circles depict how the pillars build upon one another to work as a whole
The values of public service, transparency, innovation and learning must be embraced and shared in order for people inside the government to sustain the dedication needed for ROG. This commitment is at the core of ROG.
Foundational values of the culture are translated into action by an effective strategic direction and results management system of planning, budgeting, management and evaluation
The outer ring represents societal goals and benefits that results oriented government achieves during the results management cycle
When government plans strategically it can create clarity of goals, define its role and build partnerships to better achieve societal goals
When government invests resources toward achieving goals it practices results oriented budgeting and increases value for money
When management focuses on delivering the service results as planned and budgeted then government responsiveness is increased
When government evaluates achievement of results, it learns from performance and increases transparency and accountability
ROG increases the organization’s focus on results during each phase of the results management cycle
Because government actively measures and compares actual results to planned results it creates opportunities to learn and improve
The culture of service, innovation and learning actively seeks and embraces opportunities to improve results
Helps public managers understand the promise and possibilities of Results Oriented Government
Provides practical tools managers can put into action and facilitate the transition to ROG
Helps leaders at all levels build an organizational culture dedicated to service that embraces innovation and learning
