High Tech Features
TheSAAFCassetteCleanroomGradeis constructedfromHighImpactPolystyrene(HIPS)andcomespre-filledwithSAAF ChemicalMedia.Hightechnologydesigntoolswereemployedtovalidatethedesignand confirmbetterperformance.ComputationalFluidDynamics(CFD)modelingand performancetestsconfirmoptimaldesign. Theresultingdesignandconstruction surpassesanycompetitor’scassettesinthemarket,whileallowingusersatrulybetter designwithvalue-enhancingfeatures.Thedesignretrofitseasilyandperformsbetterthanolderlegacycassettesinexistinginstallations.
Efficiency and Performance
Mostlegacycassettemanufacturersstatethattheircassettesoperateat >90%removalefficiencies.Inreality,theseefficienciesarenotcassette efficiencies.Inaninstallation,removalefficiencyisdependentontheprecisesealingofthechemicalmediadeliverymechanism,i.e.thecassettewiththecassetteholdingmechanism.Duetoloosermanufacturingtolerances, testingofmostlegacycassettesshowsremovalefficienciesaslowas65%.

SAAF™ Gas‐Phase Cassette Specifications
General Information1. TheSAAFGas‐PhaseCassettesareakeycomponentof
theSideAccessHousings(SAH),Pressurizationand RecirculationUnits(PRU),RecirculationUnits(RU),andFrontAccessHousings(FAH).AAF’sSAAFSealdesigncausesapositivesealbetweenthecassettesandtheabovementionedequipmenttoeliminatebypassand providethehighestpossibleefficiency.
Design and Materials1. Thecassetteshallbeformedcompletelyfrominjection
molded,recyclable(orincinerable),high‐impact polystyrene(HIPS).
2. NOGLUESorSOLVENTSshallbeusedinthemanufactureofthecassettetopreventoffgassingofVOC’s.Theplasticcomponentsthatformthecassetteshallbeconnectedtogetherusinginternalhighpressure,snap‐lockconnectorsformedintotheconnectingcomponents.
3.Chemicalmediashallbesupportedbetween aerodynamicallytaperedscreenswithverylowdrag coefficient(forENERGYEFFICIENCY).
4.NONOSECAVITIESallowedincassettes.Theinletandoutletscreensshallbeparallelandtheinletandoutletfaceareasshallbeequaltoensureequalandcomplete utilizationofthechemicalmedia.Thescreenopeningsshallhaveamaximumwidthof2mmtoensurefullretentionofthechemicalmediaandtoeliminatedownstreamfouling.
5. Thesideplatesofthecassetteshallbecompletelyflatandplanarandwithoutprotrusionstoensurethatadjacentcassettesmateaccurately.Allflangesshallbeinternal.Noexternalflangesshallbeused.
6.A25mmwidegasketshallbemountedoneachsideplatetosealbetweenadjacentcassettes.
7. AV‐shapedButterfly®Gasketshallbelocatedalongeachedgeoftheairentering,orsealing,faceofthecassette.Whenthecassetteisinstalledintothetrack,thewingsoftheButterfly®gasketshallengageandenvelopethetubulargasketthatisinstalledintheextrudedaluminumtrackprovidingacompleteseal.
8. Thecassetteshallincludeaprecisionmoldedslot positionedtoacceptaguidelocatedonthesurfaceof thesupporttrack.Theslotandguidecombinationwillensurethatthecassetteisaccuratelypositionedinthemountingtrackensuringfullcontactandproper compressionofthetrackmountedgasket.
9. ThechemicalmediacassetteshallbeasindicatedbelowasmanufacturedbyAAFInternationalandsoldunderthebrandnamesofAAFandAmericanAirFilter.
10.ULClassifiedinaccordancewithULStandard900andULC-S111.
