Response Plans may identify: Which personnel and schools to notify based on the

kind of emergency Who is in charge of the response at each location.

Crisis Notification:The Variables & The Responses

Crisis Notification:The Many Variables

Notification, management, and coordination of crisis response plans

Schools can be affected by a variety of emergencies:

Local emergencies such as chemical spills, fires, and armed intruders

Regional emergency such as neighborhood police action

District emergencies such as expected weather.

Telecor recognizes that each jurisdiction will ideally use a Risk Analysis approach to developing customized Response Plans

Response Plans will not be static, but will evolve and use a multi-tiered approach

For example Plans may be initiated from multiple locations, e.g., from a School or a District Office

In any plan, communication is key.

Risk Analysis:Multi-tiered Approach

Crisis Notification Communications:What Are The Key Requirements?

A system that allows rapid notification from the source (a district office or a school) to Notify all other relevant locations and critical staff in the school district – simultaneous to a local response

Remote emergency management personnel are actively assessing the emergency and preparing further instructions for the specific school and other schools

All school personnel are responding to the situation and are on high alert for directives from District.

Other nearby schools are automatically informed of the lockdown, initiating a response

Crisis Notification Vision:What Could It Look Like?

Local Emergency (e.g., Weapon) occurs at a school. School performs a lockdown

Notification is automatically sent to district office/key personnel who

initiates the district level response plan (e.g., intelligence gathering,

coordinating with police department)

All schools are notified of the lockdown and prepare to receive

further information and instructions

Constant communication maintained between all

critical staff, district office, and all school locations.

specific district response plan

Crisis Notification Vision:What are key requirements?

Schools are already equipped with facility Public Address communication systems and thus already have a method to notify the school occupants of emergencies

Telecor District Wide Paging.

Telecor District Wide Paging:Fundamentals

Allows for the distribution of pages and audio programs to multiple schools from a central/district office

Visual District Wide Paging Distribution of pages and programs using MCC-300

Console or telephone Plus a Visual Graphic User Interface And pre-recorded audio messages.

School Group Organization

One District Wide Paging system can support up to 64 schools

Schools can be organized into 32 School Groups

Schools can, for example, be grouped by region or grade level (e.g., by neighborhood, elementary, middle, high schools)

Schools in the same page/program/time group receive the same page/program/time (bell) event from the central/district office.

School Configuration

Individual Schools can configure where District Wide pages/audio programs/time events are broadcasted to within their facility

For example, pages/programs/time events distributed by the central/district office can be pre-programmed to be broadcasted throughout the entire school, in classrooms only, in hallways only, in staff/office areas only, a combination of any of the above.

Page Distribution

Central/district office can distribute pages to individual schools, groups of schools, or all schools

32 School Groups available for paging

Program Distribution

Audio source can be a microphone or 3 other standard audio playing sources (e.g., tape/CD player, media player, AUX source).

District Wide Clock Synchronization

All clocks in individual schools can be synchronized to the central/district office time.

District Wide Bell Tone Scheduling Scheduling of Bell Tone events can be

controlled from the central/district office 32 School Groups available for scheduled bell

tone distribution Up to 16 schedules, with a maximum of 1024

events

Can specify which schools/group of schools execute which events by grouping common schools into the same Time Zone.

District Wide Staff Coded Messaging

Central/district office can distributedistrict wide coded messages ontoPro-Lite LED digital displays and2484 Digital Clocks

For example:

Distributes a common message on a district display in ALL schools. Once school staff is aware & on alert, appropriate response plans can take effect

Visual District Wide Paging

An optional advanced version of District Wide Paging that features Visual District Wide Paging for T2/XL V6.7, a program that provides a graphical user interface for simpler, easier, and more efficient control of the system

Allows for broadcast of Pre-recorded audio messages Simple click activation of Broadcasts of Paging and

Audio Programs Visually manage District Bell Schedule activations and

deactivations.

How District Wide Paging Works:Systems

Each school will have a Telecor II or XL System (or other manufacturers’ system)

The Central District Office will have a dual channel IP equipped XL

All systems must have access to the same Wide Area Network (WAN).

Local Emergency (e.g., Weapon) occurs at a school. School performs a lockdown

Electronic Notification:SMS & Email

Visual District Wide Paging can be integrated with 3rd party systems such as a DRMNS (Distributed Recipient Mass Notification System)

DRMS Allows for automatic communication, e.g., email, SMS, and other media

This supports a Multi-tiered response to emergencies, with multi-layered communications technology

Supports district wide notification and provides local control of emergency response

Telecor is working with a DRMNS partner to bring this technology to our Dealers.

Remote Activation of Local Response:TeamViewer

What if the local school controls are not available?

Telecor uses TeamViewer remote desktop program to access controls from anywhere via WAN or the Internet
