MARONITE MINUTE
Great Sunday of Resurrection March 27, 2016
SCRIPTURES TO REMIND US – HE HAS RISEN!
1. “As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe
sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. "Don't be alarmed," he said.
"You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He
is not here. See the place where they laid him. Go, tell his disciples…'” (Mark
16:5-7).
2. “He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was
still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of
sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.'” (Luke 24:6-7).
3. “He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.” (Matt. 28:6).
4. “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he
live,” (John 11:25).
5. “And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power.” (1 Cor. 6:14).
6. “We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the
dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a
death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.” (Romans 6:4-5).
7. “For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those
who have fallen asleep.” (1 Thess. 4:14).
8. “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth…” (Job 19:25).
9. “That you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious
inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe,
according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and
seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion,
and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.” (Eph. 1:18-21).
10. “He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.” (1 Cor. 15:4)
11. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us
to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that
is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.” (1 Pet. 1:3-4).
12. “And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and
great grace was upon them all.” (Acts 4:33).
13. “Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised— who is at the right hand of God, who
indeed is interceding for us.” (Romans 8:34).
14. “He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces.” (Isaiah
25:8).
15. “For as by a man came death, by a man has come the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so in
Christ shall all be made alive.” (1 Corinthians 15:21-22).

EASTER SECOND COLLECTION
Remember, it has been a long standing tradition in
the Maronite Church that at all Easter and Christ-
mas liturgies, a second collection is taken for the
support of the priest serving the parish.
SAVE THE DATE
We are in the process of creating a new directory
for St George parishioners. We have reserved
eight days in May to take these pictures. (May 10-
14, May 17-19). The photo sessions will include
hours during the day, night, and Saturday. We en-
courage full participation by all parishioners. A
complete and updated directory is invaluable to
all—especially to our new parishioners. More in-
formation is coming. For now, please save these
dates on your calendar.
ANNUAL LENTEN APPEAL
The Annual Lenten Appeal for the Eparchy of Our
Lady of Lebanon is now taking place. A copy of a
letter from Bishop Elias Zaidan was sent to every
family in the mail, together with a special gift. The
Eparchy relies upon you to support our Maronite
parishes, like this one, and train our future Maro-
nite priests. Every family is asked to participate in
the Appeal at a level which is meaningful for them
and be generous. You can make your donation
with a check or credit card. Our parish’s goal for
this year’s Appeal is $11,000.00. Please be gener-
ous and support your Eparchy. Thank you.
