WHAT IS EAE?
◆ Allows polytechnics to select students based on aptitudes
and interests before O-Level results are released
◆ Focus on course-specific aptitudes and interests
◆ Non-course-specific achievements, e.g. sports, leadership,
also considered
◆ Various modes of assessment, e.g. interviews, aptitude
tests, portfolios, depending on polytechnic and course
◆ Still required to meet polytechnic admissions criteria but do not
have to compete with other students for entry strictly on basis of
relative academic performance

Objectives :
As a reality check for students – helps them
understand their wants and their achievements,
and how they can then bridge the gap.
As a dipstick for the school to gauge student
interest and their choices so that we can
anticipate and work on our resource management.
DRY RUN
Sec 2 students will indicate their subject choices in
Term 3 Week 5.
Students will be allocated their subject
combination based on merits of Sec 2 First
Semester Combined results.
Results of the Streaming Exercise will be released
the mid-July break through school ePortal.
This exercise will not have any bearing on the
actual exercise in October.

Students will make their options after the release
of year-end results.
Students will be allocated their choices based on
merits of Sec 2 Overall results.
Students will be briefed one more time in Term 4.
Results of the streaming will be released within 2
weeks of the exercise.
*Failure to Meet Deadlines
The Streaming Committee will decide for you the subjects you will be
given after allocating to the rest of the cohort.
No appeals for cases of this nature.
School Policies on the Exercise
Streaming Committee will try to allocate the students their
requests as much as possible based on order of Choice & Merit
but this is subjected to our resource availability.
◆ Appeals
All appeals will be looked into only after the exercise
has been completed based on standing policies;
To be made using official appeal forms from GO
and submitted by deadline
Addressed on a case-by-case basis
Appeal results will be confirmed and made known by
end of December
All Appeals are to be made during the stipulated appeal period.
The School’s decisions made after the release of the appeal results are final.
Once the subject allocation is finalised, the school will not be able to accede to further
appeal request.
