This semi-conscious individual was found
wandering in the wilderness at Vigilant
Warrior Camp in Titus, Al. Luckily for him
there were 96 Civil Air Patrol members
training in Emergency Services who were
ready and prepared to immobilize his
fractures and transport him back to safety!
When cadets from Springville Squadron AL-
126 arrived at Vigilant Warrior for their
Emergency Services training, one face theymet was already very familiar. C/TSgt Vince
Corey from our Springville Cadet Squadron
has been on staff at the facility in the
Communications Section helping to train
participants in radio communications. As
Communications Staff, his job was to help
coordinate the training efforts of the Basic
Ground Search and Rescue, Advanced Ground
Search and Rescue, Wilderness Advanced First
Aid, and Pilot SAR Schools.
In his free time, C/TSgt. Corey enjoys
perfecting his acting skills by portraying
various missing persons as well as crash
victims in “real- life” crash scene SAR training
scenarios, which are important learning tools
for each of the schools.
C/TSgt. Vince Corey will help staff the 2013
National Emergency Services Academy at
Camp Atterbury, In.
