Single and Dual Phase Volumes (each chapter should be ~50 pages)
1. Design motivation and overview2. CRP or APA3. TPC electronics 4. High voltage system5. Photon detection system6. Data acquisition system7. Cryogenic Instrumentation and Slow Controls (CISC)8. Technical Coordination9. Calibration

Single and Dual Phase Volumes updated IDR narrative (not much longer) plus some standardized summary tables that will be new to the TDR:
09/11/2018 Initial TDR Kick-off Meeting6
1. Requirements Table (“Schmitz Table”)2. Components summary and table3. Cost summary and table4. Schedule summary and table5. Risk summary and table6. Interface summary and table

Themes(to be worked in at all levels)
• Requirements from physics for the detector• protoDUNE• Safety• Professional practices (cost, schedule, risks, interfaces)• Be Concise• Try to ensure that sections do not have exactly repeated text
09/11/2018 Initial TDR Kick-off Meeting7
Early Key Decisions• Baseline- What is the baseline system or scheme for the TDR?
- What is the development plan, if needed, for post-TDR elements?
• Incorporating protoDUNE- What information do we need from protoDUNE for the TDR?
- What will be ready with high confidence?
- What are reasonable stretch goals?
- Implementing a placeholder structure
09/11/2018 Initial TDR Kick-off Meeting8
Nominal Schedule- September: Consortium/working group editors appointed- October: Outlines due including outline of protoDUNE strategy - November: First drafts due including first pass at requirements table.
Editors’ initial review complete by November 15- December: Second drafts due. Must include initial cost, risk, schedule,
and interface tables, plus any iteration of protoDUNE strategy and requirements.
- January: Review of second drafts.- February: Outcome of independent reviews of second drafts back to
consortia/working groups- March: Final drafts due- April: Review of final documents complete- April 15: Submit final document to LBNC

LBNC’s Two Main Issues(DUNE docdb #10030)
09/11/2018 Initial TDR Kick-off Meeting10
• Requirements: not there- New scheme:- Small set of ~25 EC-held central
requirements/parameters (need help from Leadership)
- Physics TDR ties central requirements/parameters set to physics goals
- Consortia show requirements are met by design, add any needed further specifications
- Fixed format tables- May need central
management/version control
• Length: too long– New scheme:– Break TDR and CDRs into
readable stand-alone volumes– Add Overview volume:
collection of executive summaries
– Expanded Technical Coordination volume: one-stop shopping for all matters project
– Some elements to LBNC at 2nd
draft stage– Hold the line on chapter length
