Tours – 2019 Educational Tours - organisational and booking
deadlines : With our tours scheduled to depart
next week for their various destinations, there is
still a great deal of organisation which has to be
done and deadlines which have to be met when
planning school tours which collectively have to
accommodate between 400 and 500 pupils and
supervising members of staff during the course
of the week at the venues in the country.
It is important to note that all requirements
have to be met before a child is able to go on
tour. Please ensure that all documentation is
completed and returned to the register class
teacher timeously. This year our tours (grade 4
to 7) are scheduled to take place next week from
26 August to 30 August. Details for the
different grades and their destinations can be
found in the table above. Please note that no
electronic devices (cellphones, tablets etc) are
allowed on the tours. Parents are advised to limit
the amount of money given for tuckshop
purchases as well. The departure times stated
above for the various grades will be adhered so
please ensure that you plan your morning
accordingly as no buses will be delayed for late
comers.
Further information on each tour is available on
the tour requirements letter.
Condolences Our condolences to Rebecca and Raymond Qian
and their family on the passing of their mother
recently as well as to Mrs Botes and Ms
Woodward and their families with the passing of
both their fathers recently.
Summer Uniform With the weather showing signs of warming up a
little sooner than previous years, pupils can start
to wear their summer uniform this week with all
pupils expected to be in their summer uniform by
2 September.
SGB – Safety and Security Meeting Towards the end of August, the security
portfolio of the SGB will be hosting a meeting
for interested parties to provide comment and
advice on the school’s security. The intention of
the meeting is to have parents who are involved
in the security industry attend and provide their
input on the current status of school security
and input on future improvements. If you would
like to attend the security meeting, please
email sgb@bryneven.co.za. If you would like to
provide general comments for the security
portfolio to consider or discuss at the meeting,
please send your communications to the above
address before 20th August.
