Candidates and New Members • Initial Interviews• Bonding before degree
work starts• Explanation beforehand• Respect• 6 Month rule
After each Degree
• Answer his questions• Support his needs• Encourage his
participation• Use the Mentor program
as a guide • Purposefully find ways to
bond with him
Explain Lodge protocol
• Lodge dress• Dues cards• Wearing the apron• Giving the pass• Attitude of prayer• Gavel raps• Give sign to Master when
speaking• Crossing the East
Duties of the Mentors
• Plan to meet the new brother at Stated Meetings
• Introduce him to other Masons• Get his family involved• Visit another Lodge with him• Be sure he knows of all
upcoming functions• Contact him outside of the
Lodge• Always be available for
questions• Keep the new brother involved
