This Summer is flying by and

before we know it, we’ll all be

back having our weekly club

meetings! This month I want

to focus more on preparing

our officers and members for

the upcoming school year

with the knowledge and re-

sources they need to strive ! I

plan to train most if not all

club officers this month and

possibly the beginning of

September if needed. I love

to see service projects, fund-

raisers, and other activities,

Key Club participates with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals by sponsoring fundraising events. Key Club members also participate in service projects at their local children’s hospital.

For decades, Key Club has partnered with the March of Dimes to give every baby a healthy start. Key Club members raise thousands of dollars annually through various programs, including collecting change, holding dances and taking part in March of Dimes’ signature event, March for Babies.

Since 1994, Key Club has been Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF and over the years has raised nearly US$5 million for iodine deficiency pro-grams worldwide and HIV and AIDS programs in Kenya and Swazi-land. Now it’s helping The Eliminate Project

“Seattle Rally was an unforgettable experience just

like any other Key Club memory! Although our di-

vision attendance was small, that allowed us to

open up and befriend other divisions. Which con-

sisted of handing out, "I think you're attractive (;"

slips. We got to meet a former International presi-

dent of Kiwanis, and hear some words of wisdom

with a cute slideshow. I got to attend three forums,

and learned how to be less awkward by our own

ltg. Tyler! The "Disnified" rally was a magical experi-

ence, and by far my favorite rally of the year ! “

like a dog, if treated right, I can tend to be very loyal.

What makes me qualified to be Tiger of the Month is that I have been part of the Tiger family for almost four

years. I've been involved in some of the recent activities in our division and I am glad to be a part of it. What also

makes me qualified is that I am going onto my third and final year as president at Franklin Pierce High School. I

enjoyed being part of division 35 knowing that I had made great friends during DCON 2013 and through other

events.

Hey, Pacific-Northwest!

My name is Tashrima Hossain, and I’d like to introduce myself as the new International Trustee for your district. It is

such an honor to be in your service, primarily by ensuring that your voices are heard at the international level during

the upcoming year. I’m excited to join the PNW moose; I’ve already received so much enthusiasm from the Board, I’ve

heard many great things about PNW, and I can’t wait to see all the great achievements your district has in store.

To let you know a little about myself, I am from Cypress, Texas, which is a suburban area adjacent to the Houston bor-

der. In addition to Key Club, I devote much of my time to debate and Student Council— which often leaves with very

little time for sleep! As a result, I’m a bit of a grandma, and I like spending much of my free time sleeping, reading, or

just hanging out with friends.

For those of you who would like to know more about my duties as International Trustee, I have a few basic responsibil-

ities: attending International Board meetings, participating in a maximum of two district visits, and acting as a repre-

sentative of the international level of Key Club. In addition, Governor Lisa and I completed a Governor-Trustee agree-

ment, which identified the main expectations Lisa has of me, as your district’s Trustee; many of said goals revolve

around constant communication and building positive Sister District relations—all of which are means to ensure that I

effectively represent your views on the international level.

Additionally, I serve with Jenalee Beazley, Rip Livingston, Liz Moore, and Nicole Lema on the Growth and Communica-

tions Committee. There, we predominantly focus on fostering a connection between advisors and Kiwanis clubs, mak-

ing Key Club a school-wide name, creating a “cool factor” for Key Club, empowering local clubs to publicize their work,

creating a strategic growth plan for KCI, and creating an annual club census. We already have a very specific set of

goals and action steps for the first quarter; I plan to update you all with any progress in that arena.

During my term, I will stay committed to the goals I campaigned with, but more than that, I intend to actively serve as

a resource for you all. If you have questions about amendments, elections, service, or general Key Club knowledge,

please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I’m here as a resource, friend, and assistant in any way you may need. Call me,
