The City of Austin has awarded a contract to Matous Construction Co. Inc. (Belton) for improvements to their existing conventional style deep bed tertiary filters at the South Austin Regional WWTF. AECOM (Austin) is the design Engineer for this precedent setting
installation. The improvements will consist of modifying the basins to accept twenty-four AquaDisk® Cloth Media Filter units by Aqua-Aerobic Systems. Similar to those shown in the adjacent photo each unit will be a 12 disk system capable of producing 6 MGD at peak flow and a combined capacity of 144 MGD at peak flow. Hydro Gate Corp. will be providing stainless steel isolation gates to each of the filter cells. With the completion of this installation Cloth Media Filters by Aqua-Aerobic Systems will have
daily treatable peak flow capacity of over 1 BILLION gallons of Texas wastewater!!!!

MAJOR TERTIARY FILTER UPGRADE FOR CITY OF AUSTIN
NEW ROTARY PRESS FOR CHOCTAW, OKLAHOMA
We welcome Park Process to our wide array of offerings. Park Process offers a variety of devices for non-mechanical dewatering of various sludges/biosolids, grit, screenings, septage, grease trap and a host of others. Each dewatering unit is a steel
box lined with a fil-ter suitable for your application. Dewatering is performed on site and dewatered cake is transported to landfill. We can provide an on-site feasibility test to determine performance characteristics. To complete a full system they can offer
polymer feed units and sludge pumps as well. Give us a call to check out your facility. Please go to www.ParkProcess.com for more infor-mation.
The City of Choctaw recently purchased a new Six Channel Rotary Dewatering Press System by Fournier Industries, Inc. complete with a polymer feed system and discharge conveyor. The City was attracted to the fact that the spray water is enclosed reducing corrosion and aerosols plus the unit contains odors in their building. The footprint is small and with reduced power consumption and low speed noise is minimal. The project was designed by Wall Engineering (Durant). Fournier has been manufacturing this type of machine since 1960.
We started in 1976 as Hartwell Engineering Co. Inc., then were re-organized as Hartwell Environmental Corporation in 1997 and we are pleased to be cele-brating Forty very success-ful years and thank you our clients and manufacturers for our success.
