Dr.Atkinson: Yeah,okay.OurfirstquestioncomesfromBenandthequestionis,"Dave,what'syourfavoritecoloroflight?"

Dave: Itdependsonwhatyou'retryingtodo.Lightisadrugandifweacknowledgethatlightisadrugandrealizethatjustlikeyoucouldeatjunkfoodwithoutknowingit,youcanalsoexposeyourselftojunklightwithoutknowingit.Myfavoritecoloroflightthat'smissingorunderrepresentedisred.That'sbecauseredlightcausesyoutogrownewcollagen.Itactuallyacceleratesthegrowthofcollagenandnotjustanyredlight.Specificfrequenciesofredlightcanhavedifferenteffects.Thereareseveraldifferentstudiespointingatdifferentfrequencies,butmostoftheneweitherdeepredorredLEDsthatareatafixedfrequency,thehigherqualitymorerecentlymanufacturedoneshitthosewavelengths.

Warmthplusbluelightequalsdaytime.ColdbluelightlikeyougetformfluorescentlightsorjustblueLEDlightsislesseffective,butthereisacaseforblueLEDlightbothforhealingacne,there'sacaseforitwithbabiesandthere'sacaseforitmaybeevenforresettingyourcircadianrhythm,althoughlightintensityismoreimportantthancolorforcircadianrhythm.SuperbrighthalogenlightsinthemorningmightworkbetterthanablueLEDwithlessoxidativestressontheeyes.Longanswer,butcool.

Dr.Atkinson: Lightandcolorisasourceofstress,aswellasasourceofnourishmentaswell,andthencomparedontopofthatisofcoursethennoisepollution.Yougointoanoisyplacewiththewronglightingsurroundedbynoisethenwhathappensisthebodygoesintoastressreaction.Thenwhenyou'restressed,stresscreatesstupidity.Baddecisionsflarefromstress.Thisallhappensunconsciously.That'swhatwe'resaying.Wesharethesethingsnotjusttogiveyouinformation.It'sforyoutothentakethatinformationandexperimentandnoticewhenyou'reindifferentenvironmentssurroundedbydifferentpeople,howthatimpacts.Then,youcanchoosewhereyougooryoucanchoosehowlongyou'regoingtobeinacertainsituationforbeforeyouextractyourself.
