tree had magical properties. When the bark or leaves are cut they secrete a reddish resin, one of the sources of the substance known as Dragon's blood.

Cycas Revoluta• In the wild Cycas Revoluta occurs only on a southern part of Kyushu and

throughout the Ryukyu Islands in Japan.

• Cycads is now one of the oldest living plants, first cycads evolved 290 million years ago before dinosaurs.

• Cycas Revoluta grows very slowly (releases few new leaves per year) and is long-lived, in natural conditions can live thousands years.
