- Idea for the grant, spring 2014 The Executive Board of SWON
Libraries is pleased to announce our first ever Maker Space Grant
opportunity. This project provides time and resources to implement
a new academic program, Critical Making Centering on disruptive
technologies, in particular personal fabrication (e.g. 3D-printing,
CNC tools) and computation, emphasizes the process of creating
physical and software artifacts for and with a community Conway

- Faculty Collaboration & Support Our partnership with the
library is crucial because it provides us space for student work,
additional assistance training students to use the tools The 3D
printer purchased with SWON library consortium funds provides an
engaging entry into the area of personal fabrication for students
and faculty around the university, and in particular will provide a
crucial resource for the students in my course as they prototype
and create objects from their 3D designs. Gary Lewandowski
