Barriers to Learning (informed by PEP needs analysis & PEP Toolkit where appropriate)The Hampshire PEP Toolkit reminds us that behaviour is NOT an area of need, simply a way of communicating an underlying unmet need or an area of difficulty. Use the needs analysis tool to identify primary areas of need/difficulty and note the strategies and interventions that will support the looked after child. Pupil Premium and the PEP: Children Looked After in Years groups Reception to Year 11 are eligible for Pupil Premium funding. The conditions of grant state that Pupil Premium funding must be managed by the Virtual School Head and be used for the benefit of the Looked After Child's educational needs as identified in the PEP. The PEP is the key document for planning for Pupil Premium spend for children looked after and recording impact. Pupil Premium will be allocated based on the needs identified in the PEP and costing provided. Where a Hampshire Child Looked After is attending an independent special school which is named in their statement or Education, Health and Care Plan, and the independent special school may be of the view that the specialist provision they provide fully meets the child's identified needs and thus supports them to achieve their full academic potential, please alert the Virtual School to discuss further.
