IDEOLOGY
Ideology
Ideology is a group or personal ideas and beliefs that explain views of
society.
An example is Religion.
Mormonism vs. Christianity. They have different beliefs on how you should act
as an individual in order to get to heaven.
Ideology explains views, and the plans for the future.

INDIVIDUALISM
Individualism is the idea of allowing individuals to look after themselves is
the proper way to succeed.
Examples is the Liberal Party in Alberta. They say that looking after yourself is right
and money from the government will not be granted.
American Health Care is an another idea where they have to use there own money
to pay for their needs. The government does not support those that need serious
medical attention and they have to pay for everything themselves. If you don’t have
the money for it, basically you are out of luck.

Collectivism is the idea that a group of people with the same interests are more important then what an individual wants for themselves. People should be equal to each other.

An example is that we pay taxes to the government so we can
have things like school and busing and health care, etc.

Liberalism is basically the opposite of collectivism. It is an idea that what an individual has the right to do for themselves in more important then what a group needs.
The idea that an individuals freedoms is more important then a
community
An example is the seat belt law. As a liberal it is your decision to
wear it because its only hurting yourself.

Freedom is an individual being able to
express themselves however they want and
be who they want to be.
FREEDOM
In Canada we have the right to be the religion we believe in. Where as in
Iraq if you were a missionary working in the hospitals who was Christian,
you could get killed for being that different religion.

RULE OF LAW
http://www.google.ca/images?hl=en&source=imghp&biw=1436&bih=699&q=speeding+tickets&gbv=2&aq=f&aqi=g4g
-m6&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&safe=active
This is that you are obligated to follow the laws that
have been made for your province/country, and if
you don’t you will pay for it
An example is traffic laws. If you speed or miss a stop
sign, you get tickets, and eventually your license taken
away.
Having the right to own your own land and having all your freedom to do
what you want on your land.
Private Property
For example, being able to build a garage on your own
private property would be okay, but doing so on land that is
owned by the county is something you wouldn’t be able to
or would have to get permission first.

Collective responsibility is being responsible
for the things we do as country.
Example: If the soldiers went off and killed

canada/doc1563_en.htm
Collective interest
Helping a
