University Health Insurance Requirement

In order to limit undue financial and academic stress related to illnesses during the academic year, the University requires students to carry a U.S. based health insurance plan.

To meet this requirement, new and returning students must select one of two options on the AHP Insurance Dashboard:

1. Confirm the SHIP option by clicking the ENROLL button, or2. Provide proof of an existing health insurance plan by clicking the WAIVE button

Students can access the AHP Insurance Dashboard on the Health Insurance webpage at pepperdine.edu/healthcenter.

Students can learn more about SHIP or access the SHIP brochure by visiting Academic HealthPlans’ customer care online resource center at pepperdine.myahpcare.com.

Questions? Contact andrea.kollerbohm@pepperdine.edu.

Note: International students who will attend online classes from their home country will not be required to enroll in SHIP or provide proof of a US-based health insurance plan.

Fall Semester Deadlines

AHP Insurance Dashboard is Open: May 15-August 15

SHIP Charges Post to Student Account: August 16

Grace Period: August 16-September 5

Final Waiver Deadline: September 5

Students who enroll in SHIP for the fall term will automatically roll over to spring/summer enrollment but have the option to waive the spring/summer SHIP through the AHP Insurance Dashboard between November 15 and February 1.
