Some Staff History
• Two staff members with 25+ years retired within the last seven years
• We have one person with 27+ years
• And two with over 25 years

– 33 people worked with us over my 29 years and the division’s 31 years of existence
– Of which…
• Two retired with over 25 years of service
• Additionally two retired with between 10 and 16 years, and one passed away while in our employ

Staff IT Experience
• 500+ years for our 43 staff members
• Highest being about 40 years
• Least being a few years
– We have 8 folks with over 20 years, 10 folks 15 to 19 years, 12 folks with around 10-15 years and 13 folks with 1-8 years of service

What to Do?
• Keep Current with Technology • Get legislature to value IT employees
– $$$$$$$$ • They put money in budget for state IT workers to get raises
to keep up with industry – We do pay pretty well
• Offer telecommuting when applicable • State government as a whole to adopt
– On-site day care – Better cafeteria alternatives – Be more flexible with time
