Kids that learn to read early have a better chance of being successful later in life.

Playing with language makes learning meaningful is an important part of a reading program. Even kids that are not ready to read can begin playing with letters and sounds.

Sometimes going back to basics is the best way to gain a foundation of learning. Sing and play to make learning the alphabet fun! Reading software is another good way to engage a child with language.

Can your child write his or her own name? Track handwriting through the years as their coordination and writing skills grow.

Being able to say the words on a page won’t help your child unless he can also understand what he is reading. Spend time reading together to make sure that the content is understood.

Don’t forget to facilitate meaning by asking questions and discussing content with your child.
