Ir. Soekarno (Koesno Sosrodihardjo)or the people usually called him with Bung Karno was born in Surabaya, 6th of June 1901. Ir. Soekarno was the First President of Indonesia, a proclaimer, a politician, and an architect. He serving in office as a president from 1945 to 1967. He passed away in Jakarta, 21st of June 1970(69 y.o).

Besides as a proclaimer Independence’s of Indonesia and formulated

the”pancasila”. In the other hand he also known as the architect of the alumni of

the Technische Hoogeschool te Bandoeng ( now ITB ) in Bandung majoring in civil

engineering and graduated in 1926. Some works are influenced by Sukarno or

on command and coordination with several architects such as Frederich Silaban and RM Sudarsono , assisted

several junior architect for visualization .

Some architectural designs are also made through the competition. Such as:1. Istiqlal Mosque in 19512. National Monument in 19603. Building CONEFO 4. Sarinah Building 5. Wisma Nusantara 6. Hotel Indonesia 1962 7. Welcome Monument 8. West Irian Liberation Monument

9.  Statue Aerospace 10. In 1955 Ir . Soekarno pilgrimage to the Holy Land , and as an architect , Sukarno moved to contribute to the architectural ideas in order to make the government of Saudi Arabia to perform sa'i building into two lines in the two-storey building . The Saudi government eventually renovate Haram massively in 1966 , including the creation of raised floor for the people who carry out sa'i into two lanes and the raised floor to perform tawaf.11. The design scheme Spatial Palangkaraya , inaugurated in 1957.

The kids especially in Indonesia should to know about Ir. Soekarno because he was very influential figure for Indonesia, as the simply explanation above.
