Depositing, Linking, and CrossRef DOI Use• Deposit at the title and chapter/entry level.

• Add outbound links from references in books.

• Deposit references from books to enable CrossRef Cited-by Linking.

• Instruct authors to cite specific chapters and entries using page numbers, chapter/entry titles and DOIs.

• Update editorial guidelines.

a. Copyeditors add page numbers and chapter titles in book citations.

b. Use CrossRef tools to check references during production.

Older versions remain available online with links to the latest version.

• Do not assign new CrossRef DOIs to minor new versions.

• Use CrossRef Multiple Resolution to link to book content hosted on multiple platforms.
