PLN

Here’s a snapshot of my Pintrest PLN…

September 30, 2013

I also created a Twitter account..

Gena Price @genaprice-A technology integration specialist, trainer and MI discovery educator-I try to pay close attention to Gena’s tweets as she posts great resources.

-Provides up-to-date and future tips and tricks for working in the classroom with all grade levels.-Tweets consistently.-One of my favorite PLNs to read about new eduactional tools online.

McMichael Gallery @mcacgallery-An art gallery dedicated to collecting Canadian art based out of Kleinburg, Ontario-Consistently posts upcoming events and online links.-Is familiar with various eBooks.-I love following this account because with my art major and Aboriginal studies minor, a lot of the Canadian art tweeted about, could apply to both of my areas of interest.-Some of the Canadian art posted has ties to Aboriginal culture too!

2Learn.ca Education Society @2Learn_ca -Not for profit

organization providing professional development, leadership and resources for teachers-Local PLN, based out of Edmonton -Account created to aid professionals who are evolving with technology-Followed by a lot of educators-Post a lot of link to technological resources to help me as a teacher right in Edmonton!

Evolution of my PLN

Throughout the semester, my PLN grew a lot. In

reference to my Twitter account specifically, the number of people I was following increased

significantly. My WordPress blog became a lot more

developed. I increased the number of pages and content on my page as more modules

were completed.

PLN Participation… @EdTechUofA

As I have discovered, Twitter, Pintrest, WordPress and many of the other resources

we were introduced to throughout the semester, have provided me with

exceptional networking opportunities. I tried to focus my Twitter account on my areas of interest (art and Aboriginal studies) and general education advice

that could apply to Alberta classrooms. Creating my PLN has been very helpful. I had wanted to create something similar to

show future employers. Being able to create my PLN with the course’s helpful resources was an added bonus. I love how I am able to share useful practices with educators all over the world. My favorite

hashtags are #learning #edu210 #technology #edtech.
