Sunday Rocks…

Our last activity ofHigh Trails is where we all meet at the rocks. We are silent except for one voice that quotes what we kids have learned throughout the week. It’s the highlight of our week!

Quotes from other sixth gradersabout their week at high trails:

“Isn’t it funny, how when you think you’re so big, you’re really small? I mean there’s a whole galaxy around you and endless space. From Pluto to the Sun and ant to elephant, we don’t realize how very small we really are.”

“As I sit upon this rock, I think that without nature humans are nothing of value.”

“My spot makes me feel good. I hear the true sound of the woods, of silence. If I lie on my back and look up I become part of the aspen tree. In fact, it makes me feel like I can become anything.”

“I feel calm because it’s so peaceful and quiet. It feels like I have no worries – that life is good.”

“I can not believe we have gone so far, climbed so high. It is so beautiful up here where you can see so much. I can’t believe my house is just on the other side of Pike’s Peak.”

“I think it is so amazingup here. It makes me wantto have a picnic. It feels likeI am in heaven. It is beautiful

and I love it.”

“Nature is my home.”

“ShadowsOn the sunCold, then warm.Breezes.HeartbeatsFrom the earthAnd I.”

“If you find a place beyond words, how do you describe it?”
