• Toward the end of the Impressionist movement, some painters started painting still lives, which was not considered traditional Impressionist subject matter.

Paul Cezanne

• Paul Cezanne was one of the painters who acted as a link between movements, namely, Impressionism and Cubism, because his still lifes show the different planar surfaces of the objects.

• His style of still life went beyond the simple still lifes of his contemporaries
