LIMITATIONS OF STUDY

Due to time constraint, the study was conducted within the city of Ludhiana; therefore the survey might not present a true picture of the respondent’s opinion.

While every effort was made to get the questionnaire filled personally, even then some elements of biasness might have crept in.

Generally the respondents were busy in their work and were not interested in responding.

Respondents were not ready to disclose complete and correct information about themselves and their organizations.

MAJOR FINDINGS

• The ISO certification addresses "Quality management". Maximum respondents are certified by the ISO which means they are maintaining the quality standards.

• Problems faced by the manufacturers cum exporters related to quality which often occur in export house are being mentioned.

• These problems are eradicated through proper checking of quality at each department.

• Different parameters for quality control are being adopted such as visual checking, inspection at each department.

• The most critical area where quality is necessary is the raw material as said by maximum number of respondents.

• Maintenance of quality standards with the help of planning, controlling and testing as all of the above is responded by maximum number of respondents.

• In house laboratory for testing of quality is there in the maximum factories as it is convenient to do internal quality testing and therefore to deprive of the results of the various tests done in the laboratory so as to match the suitability of the garment as per buyer’s specification.
