Something about the director:

• Ken Loach was born in 1936 in Nuneaton

(Warwichshire, England ) and has devoted his life to what we call “social cinema”, that is to say, his films talk about society, people and their problems; and he is very critical with the situation of many unknown people who live their own personal dramas.

Nothing to do with us apparently …

There is something which makes him very close to the people from Teruel.

What is it? Would you like a clue? It is something related to our

history. Can you guess?

Yes, the answer is that “Tierra y Libertad”(1995) was partly filmed in our territory, Teruel. It talked about the Spanish civil war and even more, one of the extras for a sequence of this film was a member of the school staff.

Who is it? The clue is again history.

The plot

• We are in Glasgow, Scotland and the protagonist Robbie is sentenced to 300 hours community payback for a life full of mistakes.

He is also going to become a father and wants to change his life

A new baby changes everybody’s mind and a moment to think about the past, present and FUTURE

Robbie’s redemption begins with a guided visit to a famous Scottish

distillery (Balblair)
