Courage is…

Courage is more than being brave or not being afraid of snakes or heights.

It is also about being able to face uncomfortable situations.

Challenging yourself to try something new.

Courage is when you face danger or pain whether you are afraid or not.

To have courage is to be brave.

Anyone can have courage. Some people show courage at work. Some people show courage when

they are having fun.

How do the people in these scenarios show courage?

Remember:

KNOW what you believe is rightHOLD ON to what you believe is rightCOURAGE is more than knowing and

believing. It is being able to stand by what you believe is right and do it for the sake of the common good.

Shakespeare said:

Our doubts are traitorsAnd make us lose the goodWe oft might winBy fearing to attempt.

HUMAN FREEDOM

Have you ever had your freedom taken away, even for a short time?

How did it make you feel?

Can you begin to imagine how it might feel to have your freedom taken away completely – perhaps for ever?

HUMAN FREEDOM

Connotes the power to do deliberate actions based on our reason and will

Freedom: doing what I want a license to do anything they want

unmindful of others and the consequences of their actions

Galatians 5:13 You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.

Freedom: is a gift given to us by God in

creating us rational beings. By our authentic exercise of freedom, we choose what is good.

“the right to say and do anything” but to “do the good”

shared freedom with others in the community

“When we choose and pursue what is good, we become truly free.”

“Human freedom cannot separated from responsibility.”

We are called to choose the good and thus to share in the very life of Christ.

“LIFE IS WHAT WE MAKE IT”

The choices which we make every day greatly affect our self-becoming.
