- The only entry point is for Grade 5 to Grade 6

- Williams Parkway Sr PS IBT catchment is North of the 401 with PDSB boundaries

- Out of region students may apply but priority goes to those within the assigned catchment

Written Task Details

• Two sections:

• Written response (15 minutes) - students will be evaluated based

on their ability to show deep thinking

• Mathematic (15 minutes) - section is comprised of questions

relating to the Ontario Mathematics Curriculum for Grade 4.

• Students should bring a calculator.

What happens next: - Academic marks and performance tasks are

weighted 50/50

- Academic Marks; last 2 report cards and progress report (Math, Language and the Arts)

- Learning skills are included in academic assessment

Selection Process

On April 4th

• A pool of roughly 150 -200 is defined

• The random selection process is applied

• First offers are made for 56 students

• Waitlist is created and a number assigned

• Email is the way we inform you

Offer and Waitlist

• If accepted you have until April 15th to respond via email and pay the $200 fee at the school

Accepting the Offer

• April 25th the second offer is made open for 10 days

• June 16th is the parent night

• June 30th the waitlist is closed

• School funded bus If you live within school boundaries – Grade 6 students live 2.5 Km away– Grade 7 / 8 students live 3.2 Km away

• Family funded - Bus to School or Next Stop

• Initial application fee $40 (one time)• Laptop purchase

Paid Each Year • Program fee $200 • Instrument Rental $165 – 180 • Activity fee $40 Busing $1500

– Collaboration – Grade 4 Math – Paragraph writing

• We will not provide assessment night feedback

• The cut-off mark will fluctuate based on cohort

• IAW Education Act you cannot be in two school boards

• Laptop is mandatory

• Instrumental music is mandatory

• PDSB June report card was not issued

• Will use the Term 1 report Card from Grade 4
