As each guest of the funeral comes in a spot light will follow
them and stay with them as they are seated as far as possible
from one another. As the group begins to talk about Maria, and
apologize to one another, the spot lights grow larger and grow
into one another until they all the lights are unified, just as the
group becomes unified.
At Maria’s funeral she enters
the room and is unseen by the
other characters, however a
small spotlight is cast on her
as she moves about and finally
a bright strong red spot light
is on her as she loudly sings
the last verse of the song.

The fireworks at the end of the play are off in the
distance and will not only be displayed by sound, but
also with a variety of up lights flashing synchronized
with the booming sound effects of fireworks. Similar
to the snow lighting effect, we will use it in color to
convey the visual of the continuously falling confetti.
