Eligibility – Area officers• Area Governor – currently, in D82, by selection (incoming Division Governor)• Area Council – Presidents, VPE’s & VPM’s of clubs

in the Area • + others appointed by Area Governor (Asst. AG. E& T, Asst. AG Mktg.)

Area Governor is appointed for a one-year term by the District Governor.

Division Governor• Should have served six consecutive months as a

District Council member • Is elected once a year for a one-year term• Is elected by the District Council

• District PRO, Secretary, Treasurer• Appointed once a year for a one-year term• District Webmaster and Editor may also

International Officers• International directors are members of the Toastmasters International Board of Directors,

each representing one of the fourteen Toastmasters regions. • International directors are elected to two-year terms.

Are elected by the clubs across the world, or their proxies carried by the TRIO, at the annual convention.

are eligible for contests!

Proxies –District elections

• Each member of the district council, the club President or VPE in attendance at the District Council meeting can vote.

• Any club member other than the President or VPE may carry the vote as a proxy for those unable to attend.

• Proxy templates are available online and must be submitted to the Credentials Desk for verification before the elections are held.

• Members carrying the proxy must be of good standing and the club must also be in good standing.

• Any active member who carries the proxies of both the club president and the VPE is allowed two votes.

• A Toastmaster belonging to two or more clubs may cast one vote for each of two clubs, but is limited to a maximum of two votes.

• All other Toastmasters (except members of the district executive committee) are limited to a maximum of two votes, regardless of the number of clubs to which they belong.

• Any Toastmaster who is also a member of the district executive committee and is carrying proxies, or representing two clubs, is allowed three votes.

• The maximum number of votes that any Toastmaster may cast is three, regardless of the number of clubs to which that Toastmaster belongs.

Quorum

• One-third of the club presidents and vice presidents of the district, or their proxies, must be present to constitute a quorum.

• If any business is transacted at a meeting where a quorum is not present, the action taken is deemed valid, provided it is later expressly approved in writing by the affirmative vote of a majority of district clubs on the basis of two votes per club.
