Introduction :
Key Features & Benefits :
Radiolucent- Allows visualisation of bone growth through the center hole of the cage- Markers to visualize the cage under X-ray
Good Stability- Sharp teeth on the surfaces of the implant ensure primary stability and prevent possible cage migration- Roughened surfaces promotes integration and bone On-Growth for good secondary stability- Curved and wedge-shaped designs accommodate any endplate shape
Mahe Radiolucent Cervical and Lumbar Interbody Spacer System consists of a wide selection of peek spacers.

Cervical interbody fusion cagesFeatures :
Additional Features
• Peek cages feature two titanium markers.• Produced in Titanium G5 and Peek Optima.• Vast space for bone graft.
• Anatomic shape to adapt to the intervertebral space optimized contact with the subcondral bone.
• Primary fixation pins boost initial fixation diminishing the possibility of anteropulsion.
• Optimized design allows the union of the cage with the cervical plates.
• The rounded rim preserves the surrounding structures during insertion.
• Contact surfaces are serrated for improved primary fixation.
4
Transforamidal Lumbar Interbody Fusion ( PLIF )Features :
• The roughness of the entire contact surface increases primary fixation.
• The implant side face is designed for easy placement.
• Titanium has three markers to position the implant on imaging studies.
• It has a generous area for bone graft placement.
5
Trapezoidal Lumbar Interbody Fusion ( TLIF )Features :
• Peek cages feature two titanium markers.• Produced in Titanium G5 and Peek Optima.• Vast space for bone graft.
• Anatomic shape to adapt to the intervertebral space optimized contact with the subcondral bone.
• Contact surfaces are serrated for improved primary fixation.
• The rounded rim preserves the surrounding structures during insertion.

Indications and contraindications for cervical spacers
Indications and contraindications for TLIF & PLIF spacers
For multi-segmental fusions additional stabilization with a plate is recommended.
Note: TLIF & PLIF spacers should only be applied in combination with posterior fixation.

Contraindications
Contraindications
- Ruptured and herniated discs- DDD and instabilities- Pseudarthrosis and failed spondylodesis
- Degenerative disc diseases- Revision procedures for post-discectomy syndrome- Pseudarthrosis of failed spondylodesis- Degenerative spondylolisthesis- Isthmic spondylolisthesis
- Osteoporosis- Instabilities- Spinal fractures- Spinal tumor- Spinal infections
- Vertebral body fractures- Spinal tumours- Major spinal instabilities- Primary spinal deformities- PLIF should not be attempted at or above the level of the conus medullaris ( typically L1-L2 ); TLIF can be an option at these levels

STEP 1 : STEP 2 :
Use the Modular disc spreader to distract. Distraction is crucial for the restoration of the intervertebral disc for subsequent optimal preparation of the endplates.
Use the Modular serrated disc spreader to remove the disc through the incision leaving only the anterior and lateral annulus intact.
Remove the superficial layers of the cartilaginous endplates until you reach the bleeding bone.

STEP 3 :
STEP 4 :
Attach a trial implant of the preoperatively determined size to the T-handle.
Insert the trial implant horizontally into the disc space and rotate vertically to distract the segment. Check the secure fit of the trial implant with the aid of the imageintensifier.
If the trial implant is too loose or too tight, try the next larger/smaller size until a secure fit is achieved. Select the implant that matches the trial implant. Proceed to Step 4.
Insert the cage horizontally into theintervertebral disc space by gentleimpaction.
