How To Use Hootsuite

Chapter 1

Hootsuite is a platform for managing social media,

created by Ryan Holmes in 2008.

CREATING AN ACCOUNT

Open your browser (preferably Chrome or Firefox).

Type www.hootsuite.com in the address bar.

Click SIGN UP.

You will see four different paid plans.

Professional plan and its features.

Team plan and its features.

Business plan and its features.

Enterprise plan and its features.

For now, we will try FREE PLAN.

Click SIGN UP now.

This is the SIGN UP page.

Enter your name,

business email,

and password.

Hit CREATE MY FREE ACCOUNT now.

Connecting first social profile

by clicking its icon,

or you can add social profiles later.

Enter your COMPANY NAME,

INDUSTRY type,

And COMPANY SIZE.

Click ALL DONE.

This is the default Hootsuite dashboard.

ADDING ADDITIONAL SOCIAL PROFILES

Hover your arrow at this area.

You will see this.

Click add social network.

Let’s add Twitter. Click this.

Enter your email

and password.

Then click AUTHORIZE APP.

Twitter has been added.

Click ADD SOCIAL NETWORK again.

Click FACEBOOK.

Click CONNECT WITH FACEBOOK.

You will be redirected here.

Enter your email

and password.

Click LOG IN.

Click CONTINUE.

Click OK.

OK again.

OK again.

Select the Facebook account you want to add.

Click DONE.

Facebook has been added.

Click add social network again.

Click INSTAGRAM.

Click CONNECT WITH INSTAGRAM.

Click CONNECT WITH INSTAGRAM.

Log in here

or here.

Click AUTHORIZE.

Instagram has been added.

COMPOSING A MESSAGE / POST

Select a social profile you want to post on.

Let’s select all for now.

Compose a message here.

These are the character limits for each network.

Add a link here.

If you click this,

You will see different URL SHORTENERS.

Choose one then click SHRINK.

Your new short URL will appear here.

You can upload files here.

Drag files here or click CHOOSE FILES TO

UPLOAD.

This is the uploaded picture for example.

Click this to put it on an album.

Click this for SCHEDULING messages / posts.

Select the DATE here

or type it here.

Same with the TIME.

You can also AUTOSCHEDULE your message.

Click this to ADD LOCATION

to your post.

This is for PRIVACY AND SHARING options.

You can select FAMILY, ACQUAINTANCES, CLOSE

FRIENDS,

PUBLIC, FRIENDS or FRIENDS OF FRIENDS.

It will appear here. Let’s post it now.

Click AUTOSCHEDULE if it’s auto-scheduled,

SCHEDULE if it’s manually scheduled,

or SEND NOW if you want to send it now.
