Matariki
Matariki is a celebration of the Maori new year and the seven stars.
The students and whanau cooked the food for Matariki and some people even took pictures and uploaded them onto the computer.

The reason why Maori people celebrate their new year on that day of the year is because its the shortest day of the year and they call it Matariki.

When the matariki celebration was over all the little kids left the gym and some of the big kids stayed behind and cleaned. Our class went back to the homeroom.
