We attended the module two workshop at Raffles Institute where we brainstormed on more ideas.

We noticed that students in our school do not practice healthy eating.

Most of them do not include vegetables and fruits in their daily meals.

First, we feel that students need to know what are some of the healthier

food in the canteen.

Hence we came up with healthier choice charts. On Monday, we placed all the

charts beside the canteen stalls.

Second, we came up with posters to raise awareness on healthy eating and they were pasted around the school.

On Tuesday, Adeline from LINS smoodeescame down to teach us how to make delicious and nutritious vegetable

smoothie.

One key point is that we should limit blending to forty seconds so as to

preserve the nutrients in the vegetables.

We also learnt how to prepare the fruits before blending it.

We had fun blending and tasting the smoothies!

On Wednesday, we decorated the push cart and set up the booth.

George from VSS brought along posters and games to promote healthy eating.

We blended vegetable smoothies at our booth.

Smoothies were left at the booth for the students to try.

Natasha also went round to get students to try the smoothie.

Initially, most of the students were reluctant to try as they knew that it

contain vegetables.

After trying, all of them commented that it tasted delicious.

Teachers and students also encouraged one another to give the smoothie a

try.

All 300 samples of the vegetable smoothie were gone by the end of the

recesses.

The response was very good and some of the food items were out of stock

by the second recess.

Our event managed to draw crowds away from the rest of the stalls.

As the event was held during fasting month, only about 60% (816) of

the school participated.

We conducted the survey for all the Sec 1-3 students who participated

in the event.

As a group, we felt that we have learnt and grew a lot during the project.

Unlike other projects, DFC enables us to use our creativity. Through the project, we also

understood the importance of teamwork and resilience.

Initially we questioned ourselves many times if we were able to manage the whole event. But at the end of the day, we kept reminding each other that the main aim of the project is the spirit of
