5 ways to drastically improve your LinkedIn profile

1. PART OF THE GROUP:

Join atleast 50 groups relevant to your niche, it will make you seem more connected. Get active on one of these groups where a lot of your potential customers or potential employers hang out.

2. YOUR PHOTO

Have a recent, recognisable picture of yourself. An outdated picture will make for a bad first impression once you are seen in real life. You can make your picture black and white if you want to stand out. A big smile and smart attire is essential

3. YOUR SUMMARY

Think of a person who is about to meet you and he reads your summary. What impression is he getting? Are you the kind of person he wants to have a coffee with? It has to be absolutely client/future employer focused. Don’t use it as a bragging ground it makes you easy to dismiss.

4. CONNECT

Connect with your current list of clients, these are the most important customers as they refer you to other people. Connect with your co-workers and employers for future reccomendations.

Use the “Alumni” feature, it will help you expand your connections and provide you with some useful ones quickly. It is a lot easier to connect with people who have something in common with you and this feature gives you just that.
