Usability testing isn’t a quantitavie testing method.
How can I get involved?
Usability Tests Roles
● Test Participants● Test Facilitator and Test Buddy● Test Observers
Test ParticipantsDon’t get stressed, there is no reason for it.
Don’t try to gain some knowledge prior the test, there is a reason why you have been chosen.
You are testing the product, not vice versa.
Test FacilitatorHe is not test participant’s buddy nor enemy.
Often with additional test buddy who writes notes and manages test observers.
Test ObserversThey should watch, ask questions to others and write important usability problems.
Don’t write every participant’s hesitation, only serious usability problems.
Attend test evaluation session.
More test observers mean better results.
Is it worth it to get involved?
Definitely! You are the decision maker.
Test Evaluation
Only for test attendies (buddy, observers, facilitator and maybe participants).
1. Prepare your list of top usability problems.2. Together create a global usability problems list.3. Together select problems to be fixed before next usability test.
Success Tips:
● Stick to what you have observed.● Focus on the most serious problems.
3Every attendee should choose his top 3 usability problems. These problems don’t
have to and won’t be unique.
